About this role

Accountabilities • Strengthen platform security: Identify and remediate high-severity vulnerabilities, develop hardened container base images, and maintain secure image build and distribution pipelines with minimal known vulnerabilities.

• Manage Kubernetes infrastructure: Operate, maintain, and scale Kubernetes platforms while implementing Kyverno admission policies and policy-as-code controls to enforce security standards and cluster governance.

• Maintain authentication services: Design, implement, and support secure, highly available authentication infrastructure using Keycloak, with working knowledge of IdentityServer and related identity management technologies.

• Automate infrastructure operations: Develop maintainable automation and platform tooling using Python, Go, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, and Ansible to improve reliability and reduce repetitive operational tasks.

• Leverage AI for operational efficiency: Identify opportunities to use AI-assisted automation to streamline routine operations, improve workflows, and increase engineering productivity.

• Manage cloud infrastructure: Oversee AWS infrastructure operations, including services such as ECS, EKS, IAM, and Security Hub, with additional exposure to Google Cloud Platform where required.

• Improve CI/CD and deployment workflows: Maintain and enhance automated delivery pipelines using GitHub Workflows, ArgoCD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

• Own operational reliability: Troubleshoot Linux and infrastructure issues, respond to incidents, participate in an on-call rotation, and implement improvements that prevent recurring problems.

• Collaborate across teams: Work with security, platform engineering, and other technical stakeholders to resolve complex challenges, communicate risks, and continuously improve infrastructure standards.

Requirements

• Cloud infrastructure experience: Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments, particularly ECS, EKS, IAM, and Security Hub. Familiarity with GCP is an advantage.

• Container and Kubernetes expertise: Proven experience operating Kubernetes platforms, working with Docker, hardening container images, and managing container security and vulnerability remediation.

• Security and governance: Practical knowledge of vulnerability management, CVE remediation, secure base image pipelines, policy-as-code, and Kubernetes admission control tools such as Kyverno.

• Programming and automation: Proficiency in Python and Go for developing scripts, tooling, and automation that improve infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.

• Infrastructure as code: Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt, alongside tools such as Ansible and CloudFormation, to provision and manage cloud environments consistently.

• CI/CD capabilities: Hands-on experience with automated delivery and deployment workflows, particularly GitHub Workflows and ArgoCD.

• Identity and authentication: Practical experience implementing, configuring, or maintaining authentication services such as Keycloak or IdentityServer.

• Linux and troubleshooting: Strong Linux system administration and debugging skills, with the ability to investigate complex infrastructure, networking, security, and operational issues.

• AI-assisted engineering: An interest in applying AI tools to automate repetitive work, improve operational workflows, and develop maintainable engineering solutions.

• Ownership and collaboration: A proactive, analytical mindset, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments while communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Operational readiness: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and take responsibility for the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of production infrastructure.

Benefits

• Competitive compensation: Annual salary range of CAD $102,600–$135,000 , depending on skills, experience, and internal equity.

• Remote work: A fully remote opportunity for candidates based in Canada.

• International exposure: The opportunity to collaborate with teams across a global technology organization and contribute to infrastructure supporting services at significant scale.

• Technical development: Hands-on experience with modern cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes security, identity systems, infrastructure automation, and AI-assisted engineering.

• Meaningful ownership: The opportunity to influence platform architecture, strengthen security practices, and improve operational efficiency.

• Collaborative environment: Work with cross-functional technical teams in a dynamic setting that encourages continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.

• Inclusive workplace: Join an environment that values diversity, different perspectives, and a strong sense of belonging.
