About this role
Accountabilities: • Develop and implement an overarching brand and communications strategy aligned with organizational mission, values, business priorities, and growth objectives.
• Build brand awareness through digital channels, printed materials, marketing collateral, social media, web content, publications, and other communications initiatives.
• Maintain consistent application of brand identity and messaging standards across the organization, educating stakeholders and addressing inconsistencies when identified.
• Plan, research, write, edit, and coordinate the production of internal and external publications, including corporate newsletters, strategic communications, annual reports, press releases, narratives, and other written materials.
• Develop and execute a social media strategy aligned with organizational objectives, including campaign planning, content development, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and enhance website content, ensuring information remains accurate, relevant, consistent, and aligned with established content and graphic standards.
• Create and maintain style guidelines and content standards to support consistent messaging and presentation across marketing and external-facing materials.
• Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to understand customer groups, industry needs, capabilities, and market opportunities and translate those insights into effective marketing initiatives.
• Identify and manage participation in relevant trade shows and conferences based on strategic objectives, target customers, geographic priorities, and organizational capabilities.
• Develop communications materials from planning and research through writing, editing, creative direction, production, printing, and distribution.
• Track website analytics and evaluate content performance to determine whether communications are reaching and engaging target audiences effectively.
• Manage routine website evaluations, including search engine optimization initiatives, and assess social media performance to identify the most effective channels and approaches.
• Manage publication distribution processes and conduct systematic evaluations to improve quality, reach, and cost effectiveness.
• Manage approved marketing funding in accordance with budget guidelines and provide input for annual marketing budget planning.
• Collaborate, facilitate, and lead initiatives across geographically dispersed teams, business units, and varied management environments.
• Develop analytical reports by bringing together data from multiple sources and translating findings into clear, compelling business narratives.
• Apply emerging AI tools, including platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar solutions, to support marketing and communications activities where appropriate.
Requirements:
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; alternatively, 8 years of relevant experience may substitute for the four-year degree requirement, in addition to the required professional experience.
• Bring at least 5 years of direct experience in marketing and communications, including experience in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrate experience developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications strategies across multiple channels.
• Have experience marketing services to federal government customers, with an understanding of the specific communication and positioning considerations involved.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience developing social media processes, campaigns, content strategies, and performance evaluations.
• Possess strong writing, editing, strategic thinking, and conceptual organization skills, combined with exceptional attention to detail.
• Be able to interpret analytical data, connect information from different sources, and transform findings into compelling and actionable narratives.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Be comfortable collaborating across geographic locations, business types, organizational functions, and different management styles.
• Bring strong organizational and project management abilities, with the flexibility to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, and competing priorities in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Demonstrate familiarity with AI-powered productivity and content tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or comparable solutions.
