About this role
ABOUT POSH
We are all social creatures, but the dominant “social” companies today have evolved into digital loneliness machines, driving isolation, anxiety, and mental health challenges around the world.
Human connection is lost. Posh is a beacon guiding us back.
Posh enables anyone to build an IRL community based on shared interests, while connecting consumers with the communities of people just like them. Founded by event organizers who were frustrated with the growing loneliness epidemic and the tools available to build their own event brand, we’ve built the ultimate platform for launching, monetizing, and finding IRL communities of people just like you. In just 6 years, Posh has grown to a team of 70, expanded to 10M+ users, secured $70m in venture funding, and facilitated over $400M in transactions.
At Posh, you’ll drive the technical strategy and shape the experiences that connect millions of people through live events. As a Mobile Engineer, you’ll lead the development of highly-performant, scalable, and delightful user experiences that power our mobile products using React Native and Expo. Your influence will extend beyond coding—you’ll shape mobile architecture, guide product direction, mentor other engineers, and set the standard for mobile excellence across the organization.
This is an in-person position at our New York City office in the heart of SoHo, where you’ll play a pivotal role in revolutionizing how people connect in the real world.
What You’ll Learn & Achieve :
- Lead and influence high-impact, cross-functional mobile initiatives with product, design, and engineering leadership.
- Own and evolve the architecture of our mobile applications, driving best-in-class performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
- Define and uphold organizational standards for mobile quality, scalability, developer experience, and design system consistency.
- Partner closely with design and product teams to translate complex ideas into intuitive, beautiful user interfaces.
- Own the end-to-end release process for mobile applications, including versioning, build generation, App Store / Play Store submissions, and post-release monitoring.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers through coaching, workshops, and documentation; foster a culture of diverse thinking, constructive feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Champion best practices in mobile tooling, testing, CI/CD, and code quality across multiple teams.
- Balance rapid experimentation with sustainable, scalable design, driving forward both user experience and business growth.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience leading complex frontend projects at scale with significant organizational impact.
- 3-4 years of deep expertise in mobile development with Swift or Kotlin, with a strong track record of building and shipping high-quality mobile applications.
- 1-2 years of experience with React or React Native.
- Proven track record shaping mobile architecture and technical strategy for consumer-facing products.
- Experience mentoring and developing senior engineers, and building frameworks for org-wide growth and knowledge sharing.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence across technical, design, and product teams.
- Experience with design systems, component libraries, and cross-platform interface development.
- Background in consumer, social, or marketplace products a plus—especially those focused on building real-world communities.
