About Us:

Homebound is on a mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build a home using technology. Created by an experienced team of construction, real estate, design, and technology experts, Homebound is transforming the residential construction industry by improving the costly and inefficient process of building a home.

We’ve created an entirely new way to build homes with technology powering every stage from start to finish to provide a seamless experience for our customers. Homeowners across the country can choose where they want to live, select a home plan that’s perfect for them, then personalize and buy it, all online. Homebound has raised $150M in capital from leading venture capitalists like Google, Khosla, Thrive Ventures, and we’re scaling quickly in places like Texas, Colorado and Florida. Come build your future with us.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Homebound is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join its in-house legal team. This role supports the full lifecycle of the business's legal needs - from product and contract management to insurance, risk, litigation, and licensing - across Homebound's Los Angeles, Texas, Florida and Colorado infill markets, as well as its high-growth suburban homebuilding and land development operations. The ideal candidate is a versatile, detail-oriented, and seasoned paralegal comfortable managing a high volume of varied legal matters and working cross-functionally with sales, accounting, procurement, construction operations, product, finance, and business teams.

Must be located in Dallas, TX.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

- Contracts - Review and track revisions to Homebound’s master service agreements (MSAs) with subcontractors, purchase and sale agreements, and NDAs; review title and deed documentation for property transactions and land acquisitions.

- Licensing - Track and maintain general contractor and business licensing across all markets.

- Insurance - Manage the Builders Risk insurance program in partnership with Homebound's insurance broker and cross-functional teams; review and vet subcontractor insurance policies and provide sound, risk-based guidance to business teams, assist with annual insurance renewals.

- Warranty - Track new and existing warranty claims and partner with the warranty team to gather supporting documentation and claims strategy.

- Sales & Homeowner Management - Partner with Sales on contract adjustments driven by market changes and operations. Support homeowner sales negotiations across Texas, Florida, California, and Colorado across multiple product lines; manage and help resolve homeowner disputes as they arise.

- Pre-Litigation & Litigation Management - Track pre-litigation and litigation matters; support discovery, strategy and case management in coordination with outside counsel.

- Suburban Portfolio & Market Expansion - Partner with the Land Acquisition team on Suburban's land acquisition deals and post-closing obligations; prepare go-to-market sales contracts; provide legal support as Homebound expands into new geographies.

- Business Partnering - Serve as a responsive, day-to-day legal resource for Sales, Accounting, Construction Operations, Procurement, and Technology, addressing ad hoc requests promptly to keep operations moving.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

- 10-15 years of paralegal experience, ideally with exposure to real estate, construction, or homebuilding. In-house paralegal experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate required.

- Demonstrated experience with contract drafting and negotiation, insurance and risk management, warranty claims, and litigation or case management support.

- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent matters across multiple states and business teams. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys wearing different hats.

- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while communicating clearly with non-legal stakeholders.

Our Commitment:

We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. To apply, please submit an application with your resume on the Career’s page.
