About this role

Zurich Instruments is a technology leader in advanced test and measurement instruments and in control electronics for quantum computing. Our products are used in many challenging research fields by scientists all over the world and by leading high-tech companies worldwide. We help advance science and build the next generation of quantum computers. As an Application Scientist, you will be part of our marketing and sales team in Boston. With the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to solve new technical challenges, you will be making a significant contribution to the success of our fast-growing company. This is a great chance to transition directly from an academic path into a role within a dynamic company environment that allows you to stay at the cutting edge of technology.

Your responsibilities • Provide expert application support to customers across the US working with ZI's T&M instruments (lock-in amplifiers, impedance analyzers, AWGs)

• Conduct onsite system integration, demos, and training at customer laboratories

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support sales growth and customer retention

• Represent Zurich Instruments at trade shows, conferences, and academic events across the US

• Collaborate with the global sales and product teams to relay customer feedback and application insights

• Produce technical content including application notes, presentations, product documentation, and demo videos

• Actively develop your commercial skills in a role that blends deep technical work with customer-facing impact

Your profile • PhD or Master's in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related experimental science with hands-on lab experience

• Solid practical experience with dynamic signal measurement — familiarity with lock-in detection, impedance spectroscopy, or waveform generation is a strong plus

• Comfortable with scientific programming, ideally Python, for instrument control and data analysis

• Strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts clearly to both academic and industrial audiences

• Customer-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in building relationships and developing commercial skills

• Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working independently across a large territory

We offer a diverse work environment with an open and transparent company culture where personal development forms the basis of our success. We thrive on cooperation and support distributed decision-making that allows everyone to take responsibility and generate substantial impact from the start and on many levels. We provide a competitive remuneration and benefits package, including paid vacation and sick time in addition to US national holidays, and we support a healthy work-life balance. Now is a great time to join the team. We look forward to receiving your resume and motivation letter. Applicants need to be legally authorized to work in the USA.

About this listing

Published on Lever under the board identifier Zurichinstruments, which is the name the employer’s own job board carries. RoleSprint has not verified the company’s registered or trading name, so it is shown exactly as published rather than tidied up.

RoleSprint is not the employer and not a recruiter. Applications are made on the employer’s own site and never reach us; what RoleSprint does is help you decide whether a role is worth your time and prepare for it if it is.

Published 9 September 2026, last checked 19 days ago. A posting stops being advertised here 90 days after the employer published it, and one the employer takes down is marked closed rather than quietly removed.
