About this role

Zoox’s Robot Software Infrastructure Deployment team builds the critical systems that flash and update software and firmware across our vehicles and test fixtures—spanning development, manufacturing, and fleet operations. Our deployment system orchestrates updates across a massive ecosystem: advanced sensors, high-performance compute platforms, automotive ECUs, network switches, and user interface devices.

Because of the sheer breadth of this domain, this role offers a unique vantage point. You will maintain a high-level view of our entire architecture while possessing the sharp technical acumen to dive deep into specific components when solving complex engineering challenges. If you thrive on variety, collaboration, and high-impact infrastructure, this team is for you.

In this role, you will: • Expand Capability: Design and integrate deployment support for next-generation vehicle components and subsystems.

• Architect Infrastructure: Enhance the core deployment framework, developer tools, instrumentation, and integrations with broader engineering systems.

• Optimize Performance: Drive systemic improvements in deployment speed, efficiency, and mission-critical reliability.

• Root-Cause Failures: Triage, debug, and resolve complex deployment failures across hardware and software boundaries.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Firmware, QA, Systems, Manufacturing, and Fleet Operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end execution.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 7+ years of professional experience developing clean, scalable code in Python .

• Strong working knowledge of Linux within embedded or constrained environments.

• Familiarity with CAN or other embedded/automotive communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, LIN).

• Demonstrated excellence in hardware/software triage, debugging, and root-cause analysis.

Bonus Qualifications • Proficiency in systems-level programming languages without automatic memory management (e.g., C or C++ ).

• Experience configuring or optimizing software build systems (e.g., Bazel, CMake).

• Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or end-of-line flashing environments.

About Zoox Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market. Sitting at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, Zoox aims to provide the next generation of mobility-as-a-service in urban environments. We’re looking for top talent that shares our passion and wants to be part of a fast-moving and highly execution-oriented team.

About this listing

Advertised by Zoox and published on Lever, the applicant tracking system they use.

RoleSprint is not the employer and not a recruiter. Applications are made on the employer’s own site and never reach us; what RoleSprint does is help you decide whether a role is worth your time and prepare for it if it is.

Published 8 July 2026, last checked about a month ago. A posting stops being advertised here 90 days after the employer published it, and one the employer takes down is marked closed rather than quietly removed.
