About this role
Responsibilities • Project Management : Oversees large commercial installations, new construction layouts, and energy-efficiency retrofits.
• Supervision & Training : Leads teams of apprentices and journeymen, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
• System Design & Permitting : Interprets blueprints, designs custom modifications, and pulls official municipal permits.
• Advanced Diagnostics : Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, digital, and central energy management controls.
• Maintain chilled water and centralized air handling units through regularly scheduled preventative maintenance activities
• Perform coil cleanings, filter changes, test and balance activities, sensor calibrations, and UV bulb replacements
• Belt alignments and replacement, drain pan treatments, damper calibration and repairs, cleaning interior of AHU
• Perform electrical safety inspections
• Leads and helps other facilities technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of commercial air conditioning and multi-zone heating and cooling systems that incorporate pneumatic, digital, and central energy management system controls
• Ability to create cost and downtime estimates for major repairs and/or equipment replacement
• Perform work to the highest industry and manufacturer recommended standards
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local safety guidelines including, but not limited to, lock-out/tag-out, OSHA, confined space, PPE, etc.
• Completes and documents all work and labor time using Engineering’s CMMS
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the Sr. Manager of Facility Management about equipment conditions
Qualifications • High School Diploma, or equivalent required
• 5-8 years of experience in a commercial, industrial, or a healthcare environment minimum required
• 3- 5 years of documented hands-on work experience, including time spent as an apprentice and journeyman
• EPA Sect 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification Required
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
