We are looking for an Android Automotive Software Developer to support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of embedded software for complex vehicle platforms. This role will focus on Android Automotive, infotainment, digital cockpit, platform services, and vehicle-facing applications. The ideal candidate has strong C++ development experience, a solid understanding of Android platform architecture, and the ability to work across the full software lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, integration, troubleshooting, and post-release support.

What you'll do • Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain embedded software components for Android Automotive, infotainment, digital cockpit, and vehicle platform systems.

• Develop and integrate Android platform services, applications, system-level components, and vehicle-facing software using C++, Java, Kotlin, and related technologies.

• Work within AOSP to implement, customize, debug, and maintain Android platform functionality, including system services and framework-level components.

• Develop, integrate, and troubleshoot automotive HAL components, including modern Stable AIDL HAL interfaces.

• Contribute to software architecture decisions, including component design, interfaces, inter-process communication, data flow, integration points, and deployment strategy.

• Own software features or components through multiple development phases, including requirements analysis, implementation, testing, release, issue investigation, and continuous improvement.

• Diagnose and resolve complex software issues related to crashes, memory corruption, race conditions, deadlocks, threading, performance, and system stability.

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, architects, developers, test teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality vehicle software.

What you'll need to get the job done • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 4+ years of software development experience, including strong hands-on experience with modern C++.

• Strong knowledge of C++17 or newer, including memory management, object-oriented programming, polymorphism, multithreading, synchronization, concurrency, lambda expressions, debugging, and performance optimization.

• Experience with Android Automotive OS, AOSP, Android platform architecture, Android system services, or Android framework integration.

• Experience developing, integrating, or troubleshooting automotive Hardware Abstraction Layer components, including Stable AIDL HALs.

• Familiarity with AOSP build systems and configuration, including Android.bp, Soong, Android.mk, or similar tools.

What will make us REALLY love you • Experience developing Android applications or platform services using Java and/or Kotlin.

• Experience with Android IPC and service development, including AIDL, Binder, Bound Services, Foreground Services, Messenger, WorkManager, or similar technologies.

• Experience with automotive software platforms, infotainment systems, digital cockpit systems, CAN, ASPICE, FMEA, QNX, Automotive Grade Linux, or similar technologies.

• Experience using profiling, debugging, static analysis, dynamic analysis, unit testing, or mock frameworks such as SonarQube, Klocwork, Valgrind, Mockito, MockK, or equivalent tools.
