Explore your future career 🔭 Reporting directly to our CTO, you will lead our Enterprise & Freelance Management System (FMS) engineering organization across London, Paris, and Lyon. You will manage engineering managers and staff engineers to position Malt as the global system of record for enterprise freelance workforces. Your scope spans account deployment, B2B integrations, compliance by design, the Vault, public sector expansion, and agent-to-agent AI explorations. Working alongside Product and Design, you will turn strategic commercial ambition into a scalable platform, roadmap, and world-class engineering team
Key responsibilities ✨ • Build and lead a high-performing Enterprise engineering organisation, structuring teams while mentoring Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
• Co-own the Enterprise & FMS vision with Product and Design, driving outcomes like faster time-to-deploy, higher platform adoption, and international expansion.
• Architect and scale an API-first integrations platform, enabling seamless connections with procurement, P2P, VMS, ERP, and HRIS systems alongside agent-to-agent (A2A/MCP) explorations.
• Embed compliance by design across all markets, building worker classification safeguards, secure vaults, and custom contract capabilities directly into the product.
• Act as the executive engineering voice in client face-offs, joining strategic sales deals, security reviews, and C-level conversations with CTOs, CIOs, and Procurement leaders.
• Modernize back-office tools and operational workflows using AI and automation to lower our cost-to-serve and empower internal teams.
• Raise the bar on engineering excellence, ensuring enterprise-grade reliability, security, delivery performance, and championing an AI-native engineering culture.
About you 🧑🚀 • 10+ years of software engineering leadership experience in Enterprise B2B SaaS, with a proven track record of managing leaders (Engineering Managers, Staff Engineers) and building organizations at scale.
• You have a product and commercial acumen in terms of customer and business outcomes. You can make and explain trade-offs between enterprise-specific demands and platform leverage.
• Track record in driving engineering execution and building high-trust, cohesive teams across distributed hubs.
• English on a native level, with the confidence and technical stature to lead high-level discourse in front of enterprise decision-makers (CTOs, CIOs, CISOs, Procurement heads) and win complex RFPs across Enterprise and Public Sector accounts.
• Deep architectural judgement in multi-tenancy, API integration patterns, and compliance-driven product design.
• Strong leadership in driving AI transformation, managing exploratory bets (e.g., agentic workflows), and fostering cohesion across distributed European hubs.
How to join the mission? 🚀 • First call with Alex, our Talent Acquisition Manager, to better understand your background, aspirations and answer any questions you may have. (45 minutes)
• Interview with your future manager Claire, our CTO, to delve into your experience and the specifics of the role. (60 minutes)
