Job Overview You will own the supply chain side of our electrical R&D and NPI projects, from first prototype through production ramp. You also own the purchasing for special projects, including R&D work and PCBA and e-box prototyping, where speed, new suppliers and close engineering support matter most.

You are the bridge between Electrical Engineering, the TPM, SQE, Commodity Managers and suppliers, keeping suppliers accountable on cost, schedule and quality. Once projects reach production, you hand off to the buyer/planner team.

Key Responsibilities Project Management

• Own supply chain project management for electrical R&D/NPI projects: plans, milestones, gate reviews, budgets and build readiness.

• Partner with the Electrical TPM on supplier-facing EC execution: BOM data, DFM feedback, change quotes, cut-in timing, obsolescence and disposition.

• Own material readiness and cost impact: flag lead-time, shortage and capacity risks early and drive mitigation before they hit the build schedule.

Special Projects Purchasing

• Own end-to-end purchasing for special projects (R&D, PCBA and e-box prototypes): RFQs, POs, expedites and delivery follow-through.

• Negotiate pricing, NRE, tooling and lead times for prototype and pilot quantities, with the path to volume in mind.

• Qualify and onboard new EMS/SMT, harness and box-build suppliers with Commodity Management and SQE.

Transition & Reporting

• Hand off cleanly to planning, buyers and CMs for production, with qualified suppliers, agreed terms and accurate ERP data.

• Keep project tracking and dashboards current for leadership and Commodity Managers.

• Support supplier performance reporting and QBRs, and flex onto cross-commodity projects when workload allows.

Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.

• 6+ years in supply chain program management, NPI purchasing or sourcing in hardware manufacturing.

• Hands-on experience with PCBAs/SMT, cable and harness manufacturing, and e-box/box-build.

• Track record running RFQs and negotiating with EMS, harness and box-build suppliers.

• Working knowledge of NPI lifecycles and EC processes (CCBs, BOM/EPN management).

• Runs multiple projects independently under shifting priorities and drives decisions without formal authority.

• Strong communicator, comfortable with ERP/MRP, project tracking tools and dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications • Experience with contract manufacturers and CM transitions.

• Power electronics or complex electromechanical hardware background.

• PMP/CAPM or APICS/ASCM (CPIM or CSCP); AI or analytics tools for reporting automation.

• Experience with PLM system

This position is onsite at our Menlo Park HQ. The salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee. Along with the base salary, Mainspring offers pre-IPO stock options + benefits.
