About this role
At Layup Parts, our mission is simple: deliver composite parts at unprecedented speed. We’re not just another composites shop—we’re a technology-first manufacturing startup that’s revolutionizing how composite tooling and parts are made for the aerospace, defense, and motorsports industries. Our customers are developing tomorrow's high-tech products, and we are building technology to accelerate their success. We’re looking for an experienced Quality Inspector who’s passionate about precision and wants to play a key role in building the infrastructure of modern manufacturing. You’ll be hands-on in a dynamic, cross-functional environment helping us deliver quality at speed. We are looking for this individual to work midday hours with a start time between 10:00AM - 12:00PM ideally.
What You’ll Do: • Inspect composite parts, molds, and tooling—both for internal use and customer delivery
• Document and report findings clearly for internal teams and external stakeholders
• Support and improve our Quality Management System (AS9100-style)
• Perform receiving inspections and verify incoming materials meet spec
• Track and document non-conformances and coordinate rework and disposition
• Input inspection data into our MES (Matrix) and help refine our digital tools
• Collaborate with production, software, and engineering to raise quality and reduce defects
What We’re Looking For: • Be awesome! Be the kind of person you want to work with!
• A sharp eye for detail and a high standard for precision and consistency
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Comfortable reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T
• Familiar with AS9100 or similar QMS standards
• Able to clearly document and communicate quality issues
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
Preferred: • 3+ years in quality/inspection in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Familiar with 3D surface scanning, PolyWorks, or similar tools
• Experience with MES, ERP, PLM, or QMS platforms (Matrix, Jira, NX, NetSuite, etc.)
• Know how to handle First Article Inspections from start to finish
Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of standing on the production floor, alongside lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

About this listing
Published on Lever under the board identifier Layup, which is the name the employer’s own job board carries. RoleSprint has not verified the company’s registered or trading name, so it is shown exactly as published rather than tidied up.
RoleSprint is not the employer and not a recruiter. Applications are made on the employer’s own site and never reach us; what RoleSprint does is help you decide whether a role is worth your time and prepare for it if it is.
