About this role

Accountabilities: • Review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and high-quality deliverables.

• Manage multiple tax engagements from initial planning through completion, coordinating resources, deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.

• Provide tax planning, consulting, and technical guidance to clients, developing practical strategies that address their specific business and tax needs.

• Research complex federal and state tax issues and translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships by understanding client priorities and providing responsive, high-quality service.

• Lead client meetings, communicate tax recommendations clearly, and serve as a trusted advisor on complex tax matters.

• Supervise, coach, and develop tax professionals across multiple experience levels, providing guidance and feedback to support their professional growth.

• Manage IRS and state tax examinations when required, coordinating responses and helping clients navigate examination processes.

• Monitor engagement budgets, billing, project timelines, and overall delivery to ensure engagements remain on track.

• Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives by identifying opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and supporting broader firm objectives.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience , with substantial exposure to complex tax engagements and client advisory work.

• Demonstrated experience reviewing complex individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns.

• Previous experience managing tax engagements and coordinating multiple priorities, deadlines, and client requirements.

• Experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or developing tax professionals across different levels of experience.

• Active CPA license required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field; a Master's degree in Taxation is preferred .

• Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation, tax compliance, planning, and research.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to research complex tax matters and develop practical solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tax concepts and recommendations clearly to clients and colleagues.

• Strong client service mindset with the ability to establish trusted relationships and communicate confidently with business leaders and sophisticated clients.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements, budgets, and deadlines simultaneously.

• Interest in contributing to business development, practice growth, and long-term client relationships.
