About this role
Accountabilities: • Manage direct sales activities across the assigned Southeastern US territory, covering Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities while developing strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Demonstrate hardware and software technologies to prospective customers and explain how solutions address specific applications and technical requirements.
• Develop monthly sales forecasts and maintain accurate visibility into opportunities across all stages of the sales cycle through the CRM.
• Drive territory performance by evaluating sales drivers, identifying high-potential prospects, and continuously refining the regional business plan.
• Develop and support a system integrator program within the territory.
• Plan weekly travel schedules to maximize customer engagement and identify additional customer locations and opportunities for in-person meetings.
• Maintain comprehensive CRM records, including scheduled activities, follow-ups, opportunity progress, and sales-cycle documentation.
• Provide weekly sales activity reports and participate in regular sales calls to discuss progress, opportunities, and strategy.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requests receive timely attention and follow-through.
• Build strong working relationships with Applications, Marketing, Engineering, and other internal groups to leverage technical and commercial support in closing opportunities.
• Generate leads through industry networking, referrals, trade shows, seminars, and other business development activities.
• Partner with Marketing on lead-generation initiatives and develop presentations and sales materials as needed.
• Develop a deep understanding of product lines and their applications across different customer needs and industries.
• Participate in quarterly sales meetings for territory planning, performance review, and strategic support.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of progressive field engineering and/or sales experience.
• Experience in data acquisition, embedded control, test and measurement, or a closely related technical field.
• Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities with a strong hunter mentality.
• Strong customer-facing orientation and willingness to spend significant time engaging directly with customers.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and business development skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven, and capable of managing deadlines effectively.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional technical and commercial teams.
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost efficiency, including identifying appropriate use cases and critically evaluating AI-generated outputs.
• Experience in aerospace, space, or defense sales is preferred.
• Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be legally authorized to access applicable export-controlled information and source code.
