About this role
Accountabilities In this role, you will take ownership of backend engineering projects, delivering reliable and scalable solutions that address real customer needs. Your main responsibilities will include:
•
Build and develop the Agent Control Plane, enabling customers to deploy, operate, and manage their own fleets of AI agents.
•
Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask to support security detection, investigation, and AI-assisted resolution.
•
Develop the AI agent layer, including tool-calling capabilities, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and human approval mechanisms before executing actions on live systems.
•
Design, model, and query large-scale security datasets using ClickHouse while ensuring strict tenant isolation.
•
Take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects, from understanding customer challenges and defining technical solutions to implementation and delivery.
•
Engage directly with customers to understand their requirements, address technical issues, and ensure successful outcomes.
•
Independently manage priorities and deliver high-impact engineering work while maintaining effective communication with the wider team.
•
Leverage AI agents and advanced language models to explore unfamiliar technologies, navigate existing codebases, and accelerate development.
•
Manage two major engineering projects simultaneously while contributing to smaller AI-driven initiatives.
•
Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, system reliability, and observability.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Python engineer with strong backend development capabilities, a hands-on approach to AI-assisted software engineering, and the ability to work independently while remaining closely connected to customers and teammates. The following qualifications are expected:
•
At least 5 years of overall professional software engineering experience.
•
At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining production-grade Python applications.
•
Daily, practical experience using AI agents and advanced AI models to build software.
•
Proven ability to use Large Language Models (LLMs) independently to learn unfamiliar technical concepts, navigate new codebases, and deliver working solutions.
•
Experience designing distributed systems and scalable backend services.
•
Strong understanding of API architecture, design principles, and data modelling.
•
High standards for software testing, correctness, reliability, and observability.
•
Demonstrated ability to own features and projects from initial customer requirements through implementation and problem resolution.
•
Strong customer-oriented mindset and willingness to communicate directly with customers.
•
Ability to identify urgent priorities, respond quickly, and focus on tasks with the greatest business impact.
•
Strong autonomy, decision-making, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently without constant supervision.
•
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and implementation approaches clearly.
•
Growth-oriented mindset, openness to constructive feedback, and willingness to revisit or improve existing solutions when necessary.
•
Strong sense of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to communicating challenges and delivering commitments.
•
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues rather than working in isolation.
•
Availability to work remotely during UK business hours.
•
Ability to start as soon as possible.
Nice-to-have qualifications:
•
Experience developing backend applications with FastAPI or Flask.
•
Familiarity with ClickHouse or other columnar analytics databases.
•
Production experience with AI agent frameworks, LLM tool calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
•
Experience building or maintaining multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms.
•
Background in cybersecurity, detection engineering, or large-scale event processing.
•
Additional programming experience with C++ or TypeScript.
Benefits:
•
Fully remote working arrangement.
•
Full-time, long-term professional opportunity.
•
Opportunity to work on an innovative AI-native cybersecurity platform.
•
Exposure to advanced AI agents, frontier language models, and emerging engineering technologies.
•
Significant autonomy and end-to-end ownership of impactful engineering projects.
•
Direct collaboration with an international, multidisciplinary engineering team.
•
Opportunities to work on complex challenges involving distributed systems, cybersecurity, and large-scale data infrastructure.
•
Supportive, remote-first working environment focused on professional development, collaboration, and employee well-being.
•
Opportunity to contribute to meaningful products while developing technical expertise in a rapidly evolving field.
