About this role
Accountabilities: • Own day-to-day marketing technology operations, including email platform management, campaigns, journeys, automations, segmentation, data hygiene, quality assurance, and deliverability.
• Administer integrations across email service providers, CMS platforms, analytics tools, and core business systems while maintaining reliable and trustworthy data flows.
• Ensure marketing technology systems meet appropriate security, privacy, accessibility, and operational standards.
• Build and deploy marketing website updates directly in a headless CMS and through code, enabling routine changes to be delivered quickly without relying entirely on an engineering backlog.
• Manage content models and editorial experiences so marketing teams can independently handle recurring content needs.
• Build reusable campaign capabilities including audience segments, dynamic content, forms, tracking, measurement, and other marketing enablement tools.
• Apply AI across marketing operations to automate repetitive work, generate and review code, identify operational improvements, and increase quality, capacity, speed, or cost efficiency.
• Evaluate and prototype potential in-house alternatives to existing marketing technology, beginning with email, while considering deliverability, compliance, operational complexity, and total cost.
• Partner with engineering teams on shared technical standards, integrations, code quality, version control, and platform evolution.
• Translate marketing requirements into effective technical solutions and communicate technical considerations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
• Typically 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with production marketing systems, such as email service providers, CMS platforms, or the data flows connecting them.
• Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable working with HTML and CSS, with sufficient JavaScript or TypeScript and SQL knowledge to build, troubleshoot, and iterate with AI assistance.
• Understanding of headless CMS architecture and experience making production website changes.
• Demonstrated practical AI fluency, including the ability to show examples of workflows, automations, or solutions you have built or improved using AI.
• Strong operational judgment and disciplined QA practices, particularly when managing systems and communications that have significant customer reach.
• Understanding of email deliverability and the operational considerations involved in production email management.
• Strong ability to translate between marketing objectives and technical implementation while collaborating effectively with marketing and engineering stakeholders.
• Experience with Payload or another headless CMS such as Contentful, Sanity, or Strapi is preferred.
• Experience with email infrastructure beyond the ESP layer, including migrations or build-vs-buy evaluations, is preferred.
• Experience working in shared codebases with version control and code review is preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM, customer lifecycle, and digital acquisition systems is a plus.
• Experience building accessible digital products is a plus, particularly products serving economically or historically underserved communities.
• Experience in mission-driven, venture-backed, or resource-constrained growth-stage environments is preferred.
Benefits:
• $130,000–$160,000 annual salary , depending on experience and demonstrated capability.
• Stock options.
• Additional benefits as part of the overall compensation package.
• Fully remote work within the United States.
• Opportunity to work at the intersection of marketing technology, software engineering, and applied AI.
• Significant ownership over marketing systems, website delivery, automation, and technology strategy.
• Opportunity to evaluate and prototype new technology solutions and influence build-vs-buy decisions.
• Cross-functional collaboration with marketing and engineering teams.
• Environment focused on increasing operational efficiency, quality, speed, and technical leverage.
