About this role
Accountabilities • Lead the development, writing, and execution of HEOR-focused scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, podium presentations, and congress materials.
• Translate complex evidence—including cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, RWE studies, PRO research, treatment-pattern analyses, comparative effectiveness research, and HCRU analyses—into accurate, compelling scientific communications.
• Partner with HEOR, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Evidence Generation, and product teams to execute publication strategies and evidence-dissemination plans.
• Contribute to integrated publication plans supporting global value demonstration, evidence generation, market access, and product value communication objectives.
• Provide strategic direction for evidence-dissemination activities and help shape the external scientific narrative.
• Collaborate with external authors, health economists, outcomes researchers, key opinion leaders, and publication steering committees throughout publication development.
• Critically evaluate study designs, statistical analyses, observational research, economic models, and patient-centered outcomes data to ensure scientifically balanced and accurate communications.
• Ensure publication activities comply with Good Publication Practice (GPP), ICMJE recommendations, applicable ISPOR Good Practices, and internal policies and procedures.
• Manage multiple publication projects across therapeutic indications and geographic regions, maintaining agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Provide scientific and editorial guidance to cross-functional teams, external vendors, and publication agencies.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with authors, journals, congress organizations, publishers, and professional societies.
• Follow applicable SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards governing scientific communications.
Requirements
• Advanced degree such as PhD, PharmD, MD, MPH, MS, or equivalent in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, public health, life sciences, biostatistics, or a related discipline.
• 5–7+ years of scientific or medical writing experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, HEOR consulting, outcomes research, or medical communications environments.
• Demonstrated experience authoring HEOR publications, including manuscripts and congress presentations based on health economic analyses, RWE, PRO research, or patient-centered outcomes research.
• Strong understanding of health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research methodologies, observational study design, and evidence-generation principles.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary, global teams and managing external vendors or publication agencies.
• Excellent scientific writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to accuracy, rigor, compliance, and editorial quality.
• Experience supporting oncology HEOR programs, particularly hematologic malignancies and/or solid tumors, is preferred.
• Experience with cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, RWE, PROs, quality-of-life endpoints, comparative effectiveness research, treatment patterns, and HCRU is preferred.
• Familiarity with payer evidence requirements and value-communication objectives across major global markets.
• Knowledge of ISPOR Good Practices, GPP, and ICMJE recommendations.
• Experience supporting market access, reimbursement, and value-demonstration initiatives.
• Experience working with publication steering committees, evidence-dissemination governance, and publication agencies.
• Active membership in organizations such as ISPOR, ISMPP, AMWA, DIA, or a related professional association is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking, data interpretation, initiative, adaptability, teamwork, and results orientation.
• Ability to communicate clearly, provide and receive actionable feedback, embrace change, and collaborate effectively across functions.
