About this role
Accountabilities: • Design and implement high-performance, fault-tolerant connector integrations and adapters capable of supporting mission-critical business workflows continuously and reliably.
• Architect and develop distributed microservices using cloud-native patterns such as circuit breakers, bulkheads, observability, and resilient multi-tenant architectures.
• Build and optimize data pipelines supporting REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, and other integration protocols across synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven workflows.
• Take ownership of critical technical subsystems, contributing to system design, RFCs, architecture reviews, and long-term technical decisions.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing to maintain strong operational visibility and platform health.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and SRE teams to deliver new capabilities, troubleshoot production incidents, and continuously improve reliability and performance.
• Champion engineering best practices through code reviews, robust testing strategies, security hardening, performance optimization, and maintainable system design.
• Contribute to platform infrastructure and developer-experience initiatives that improve productivity and engineering consistency across the organization.
• Mentor other engineers and share expertise in system architecture, distributed systems, design patterns, and software engineering practices.
• Take end-to-end accountability for assigned systems, from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
Requirements:
• 7+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems with high-throughput and low-latency requirements.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures in production, including tenant isolation, rate limiting, and resource management.
• Expert-level Java 8+ development experience, including object-oriented programming, concurrency, performance tuning, memory management, garbage collection, and relevant Java frameworks and libraries.
• Strong experience with microservices architecture, including service decomposition, API design, inter-service communication, and distributed-system patterns.
• Deep understanding of integration protocols and APIs, including REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, HTTP semantics, caching, rate limiting, and error handling.
• Hands-on experience with messaging and event-streaming technologies such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, or comparable platforms.
• Strong database knowledge, including SQL query optimization and indexing, along with practical experience using NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, together with practical exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and/or serverless architectures.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including SOLID principles, design patterns, system design, unit testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and reliability testing.
• Experience with advanced Git workflows and platforms such as GitHub, including branching, rebasing, cherry-picking, and collaborative development practices.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tooling such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Comfortable working with Linux and understanding operating-system concepts such as memory allocation, processes, file systems, and networking.
• Experience with observability technologies such as ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, or Zipkin.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, particularly when diagnosing complex production issues in distributed environments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions, communicate effectively, mentor engineers, and collaborate successfully within distributed teams.
• Self-driven and accountable, with a data-informed approach to decision-making and a strong commitment to software quality.
Benefits:
• Flexible, remote-friendly working environment from India.
• Opportunity to work on complex, business-critical integration and API technologies.
• Career development and ongoing mentorship opportunities.
• Exposure to distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, microservices, event-driven platforms, and modern DevOps practices.
• Significant technical ownership and opportunities to contribute to architectural direction.
• Collaborative environment with distributed engineering, Product, DevOps, and SRE teams.
• Opportunity to contribute to platform-wide engineering and developer-experience initiatives.
• Work within a growing technology environment focused on integration, automation, and API-driven business processes.
