About this role

Accountabilities: • Financial Reporting & Close: Own financial reporting preparation, including the statement of cash flows, during monthly and quarterly closes, while supporting journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and other close activities.

• Equity & Compensation Accounting: Own accounting for equity and other compensation awards, partnering with Equity Administration to ensure accurate and timely accounting treatment, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards.

• Technical Accounting: Lead the resolution of complex technical accounting matters and ensure conclusions are translated into technical memos, accounting policies, journal entries, financial statement presentation, disclosures, reconciliations, and documented processes.

• Audit Management: Serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors, coordinating PBC requests, preparing memorandums, drafting financial statements and footnotes, and completing required tie-outs.

• U.S. GAAP Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on complex U.S. GAAP topics, including classification, measurement, presentation, disclosure, and recurring close requirements.

• Accounting Policies & Standards: Maintain accounting policies and technical memorandums while monitoring emerging accounting standards and translating new guidance into implementation plans, disclosures, reporting calendars, and scalable processes.

• Financial Analysis: Perform monthly flux and variance analysis, identifying material movements and clearly communicating explanations to Finance leadership.

• Process & AI Optimization: Apply tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI solutions to streamline technical accounting workflows, automate recurring activities, and accelerate the close.

• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, Revenue, People, and Operations teams on new initiatives and broader Finance-related needs.

Requirements

• Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience, with an active CPA license required.

• Professional Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting; Big 4 or national accounting firm experience is strongly preferred.

• U.S. GAAP Expertise: Broad knowledge of revenue, leases, stock-based compensation, capitalized internal-use software, fixed assets and intangibles, impairment, financial statement presentation, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity or multi-currency structures.

• Equity Accounting: Experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards.

• Systems Proficiency: Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms, close management tools such as FloQast or Numeric, and equity administration systems such as Carta or Slice.

• Technical Documentation: Proven ability to draft and review audit-ready technical accounting memorandums, apply conclusions to recurring operations, work constructively with external auditors, and support conclusions with evidence, economic substance, and authoritative guidance.

• End-to-End Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of how technical accounting decisions flow through journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, controls, financial statements, significant estimates, and external reporting.

• Excel & Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency, including comfort working with large datasets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.

• AI & Automation: Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar solutions within accounting workflows is preferred.

• Personal Effectiveness: Strong attention to detail, independent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, ownership, self-motivation, and the ability to reconcile and resolve discrepancies while managing competing priorities.
