About this role

Accountabilities: As the technical lead for Marketing Technology, you will own key architectural decisions, guide engineering execution, and develop intelligent digital experiences that improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.

• Architect global web platforms: Own the architecture, scalability, and performance of the primary digital platform, optimizing Core Web Vitals, edge caching, and internationalization.

• Lead agentic AI development: Design and deploy production-grade autonomous agents, multi-agent workflows, tool-calling frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines for personalized web experiences and marketing automation.

• Drive technical strategy and delivery: Partner with engineering leadership to translate business and marketing roadmaps into practical technical plans, achievable milestones, and maintainable codebases.

• Oversee marketing technology integrations: Architect integrations with third-party marketing platforms, analytics tools, customer data platforms, and CRM systems while maintaining strong performance and security.

• Promote engineering excellence: Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor mid-to-senior engineers in modern full-stack development and emerging AI technologies.

• Strengthen cloud and DevOps practices: Collaborate with Platform and DevOps teams to maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and automated infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.

• Improve platform reliability and scalability: Apply sound architectural principles to ensure the digital platform remains resilient, secure, and performant across international markets.

• Collaborate across functions: Work closely with engineering, product, marketing, and other stakeholders to align technical decisions with business objectives and customer needs.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive software engineering experience, proven technical leadership, and practical expertise building modern web systems and production-ready agentic AI solutions.

• Professional experience: At least 8 years of progressive software engineering experience, including 2 or more years in a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Principal Engineer role architecting high-scale web platforms or distributed services.

• Agentic AI expertise: Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying autonomous AI agents and LLM-powered workflows in production, using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or custom architectures.

• AI workflow engineering: Practical knowledge of structured tool or function calling, multi-agent orchestration, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

• Modern full-stack development: Deep expertise in TypeScript or JavaScript, modern front-end frameworks such as React or Next.js, and backend development with Node.js or Python.

• Web architecture: Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), incremental static regeneration (ISR), REST and GraphQL APIs, and modern web performance optimization.

• Cloud and infrastructure: Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, containerization with Docker, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and CDN or edge platforms such as Cloudflare or CloudFront.

• Technical leadership: Ability to establish architecture standards, guide engineering decisions, conduct effective code reviews, and mentor experienced developers.

• Cross-functional collaboration: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous business objectives into actionable technical plans.

• Marketing technology experience (preferred): Familiarity with MarTech platforms, headless or decoupled CMS solutions such as Contentful or Sanity, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimization.

• CRM and marketing integrations (preferred): Experience integrating enterprise CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and data pipelines, including tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and Segment.

• Privacy and compliance knowledge (preferred): Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, WCAG accessibility standards, and enterprise compliance frameworks such as SOC 2.

Benefits:

• Competitive base salary: Annual gross base compensation ranging from CAD 140,000 to CAD 176,000.

• Additional compensation: Eligibility for an annual bonus, subject to applicable terms and individual and company performance.

• Comprehensive healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

• Generous parental leave: Paid parental leave to support employees and their families.

• Flexible time off: Flexibility to manage personal needs and time away from work.

• Spending accounts: Access to spending accounts as part of the overall benefits package.

• Long-term wellbeing: Eligibility for a sabbatical after five years of service.

• Remote-first work environment: Flexibility to work remotely from Canada while collaborating with a geographically distributed team.

• Professional growth: Opportunities to expand technical expertise, influence architecture, and contribute to innovative AI and digital platform initiatives.

• Inclusive workplace: A commitment to equal opportunity, diversity, equity, inclusion, and reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process.
