About this role
Accountabilities: • Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of complex enterprise implementations involving multi-entity structures, intricate supply chains, cross-border movements across the United States and Canada, and custom ERP and connector integrations.
• Own solution architecture and tax determination strategies for high-volume transaction environments, including custom calculation logic and complex schedule and return mappings.
• Facilitate advanced architectural and functional design workshops with enterprise tax directors, IT leaders, systems integrators, and other senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead system integration testing and user acceptance testing strategies, diagnosing complex issues involving race conditions, caching behavior, data discrepancies, integrations, and underlying data schemas.
• Manage technical project risk by identifying architectural constraints early, proactively addressing dependencies, and helping prevent scope drift throughout implementation.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for critical customer issues, complex data anomalies, and unresolved tax determination or compliance challenges.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Support teams to investigate root causes such as platform performance issues, caching behavior, connector defects, and other technical challenges while advocating for appropriate platform improvements.
• Collaborate with third-party implementation partners and provide technical governance to ensure delivery quality, architectural consistency, and adherence to implementation standards.
• Participate in pre-sales discovery, solution scoping, technical discussions, and level-of-effort estimations for complex or highly customized enterprise opportunities.
• Provide technical coaching, peer review, and quality assurance for consultants when serving in a Team Lead capacity.
• Develop standardized implementation templates, automated validation scripts, training curricula, and other reusable assets that improve delivery consistency and practice-wide efficiency.
Requirements:
• 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise software implementation, tax technology consulting, systems integration, or technical solution delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep subject matter expertise in excise and fuel taxation, oil and gas supply chains, terminal operations, or indirect tax systems.
• Advanced technical troubleshooting capabilities, including experience with APIs, SQL and database queries, data transformation pipelines, ERP data structures, and complex enterprise integrations.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions involving multiple entities, jurisdictions, systems, and high-volume transaction environments.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical and functional concepts and influence executive-level stakeholders, including C-level leaders, Tax Directors, Enterprise Architects, and senior IT stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and drive outcomes without relying on direct reporting authority.
• Prior hands-on experience configuring specialized excise tax platforms or comparable tax engines is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of ERP ecosystems such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle ERP Cloud, PDI Enterprise, or JD Edwards is preferred.
• Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills are essential.
• Comfort working in an AI-enabled environment and using AI-related technologies to improve efficiency, solve business challenges, and contribute to better outcomes is expected.
Benefits:
• Base salary ranges vary by location:
• Colorado: $88,000–$140,800 annually.
• Washington: $88,000–$155,700 annually.
• California: $88,000–$170,300 annually.
• New York City: $97,100–$170,300 annually.
• Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, qualifications, market conditions, and business considerations.
• Eligibility for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to the applicable plan and role.
• Paid time off and paid parental leave.
• Location-dependent health and wellness benefits, generally including medical, life, and disability insurance.
• Opportunities to work in an AI-enabled environment where AI is incorporated into daily workflows, decision-making, and technology solutions.
• Access to an inclusive workplace environment with employee resource groups and leadership sponsorship.
• Opportunities to expand expertise in enterprise implementation, tax technology, systems integration, and AI-enabled professional services.
