About this role
Accountabilities: • Own the technical direction of the editor, including the design and implementation of AI-powered capabilities such as content generation, layout suggestions, content assistance, and personalization.
• Lead the Editor 2.0 team's delivery by owning sprint planning, task breakdown, prioritization, progress tracking, and resolution of technical or cross-team blockers.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, personally taking on critical-path engineering work when the team needs additional capacity and ensuring important features reach production.
• Establish and maintain high standards for code reviews, technical decisions, testing, maintainability, and overall engineering quality.
• Own incident response and production health for the editor, serving as the primary escalation point for issues within the product area.
• Partner directly with Product to define roadmap priorities and feature opportunities, contributing technical and product judgment rather than simply executing predefined requirements.
• Evaluate AI-powered product ideas based on real user workflows and conversion objectives, identifying where AI can create meaningful value and where it may introduce unnecessary complexity.
• Propose and develop AI-native features, defining what the system should generate, suggest, automate, or leave under user control.
• Use AI coding tools as part of everyday development while ensuring that all generated or assisted work is thoroughly understood, reviewed, tested, and maintainable.
• Establish effective AI-assisted development practices across the team and help engineers identify workflows that improve productivity without creating additional cleanup or quality risks.
• Write unit and integration tests as part of feature development and proactively identify edge cases and risks during planning.
• Mentor and develop engineers, support their technical growth, and help establish stronger AI-assisted engineering practices across the team.
Requirements:
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 1–2 years in a technical lead or de facto lead capacity with ownership of technical direction for a team.
• Strong hands-on software engineering background and experience building consumer-facing web products at scale.
• Experience with complex page builders, website or funnel editors, WYSIWYG tools, or similarly sophisticated visual editing products is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience shipping AI-powered product features, beyond simply using AI coding assistants.
• Experience working directly with Product Managers on roadmap development, feature definition, prioritization, and product strategy.
• Comfortable serving as the primary escalation point for production incidents and technical issues within a product area.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js, along with the ability to work with PHP 7.4/8+ and Laravel during an existing-system transition.
• Familiarity with MariaDB, Redis, AWS services such as EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS, and S3, as well as Docker and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of testing, code quality, technical risk management, and production reliability.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools daily and the judgment to distinguish genuinely productive AI-assisted workflows from those that create additional engineering overhead.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to make technical and product decisions in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
• Comfortable balancing hands-on individual contribution with team leadership, mentoring, prioritization, and delivery ownership.
Benefits:
• Remote position across Europe and Latin America.
• Opportunity to lead a team building an AI-native ecommerce conversion and editing experience.
• Hands-on role combining engineering leadership, product strategy, and software development.
• Opportunity to shape how AI is integrated directly into a customer-facing product.
• Fast-growing SaaS environment with a strong focus on data, excellence, continuous growth, and execution.
• Exposure to modern technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, and AI-assisted development.
• Collaborative team environment with open communication and clear goal setting.
• Opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals from leading technology companies.
• Significant ownership over technical direction, roadmap development, and product outcomes.
