About this role

Accountabilities: In this role, you will oversee reporting initiatives from initial discovery through development, validation, and delivery, ensuring that business needs translate into accurate and maintainable analytics.

• Own end-to-end reporting projects across pharmacy business lines, translating ambiguous requests into well-defined requirements, data models, dashboards, and final deliverables.

• Develop and maintain the semantic layer in LookML, including explores, views, dimensions, and measures, using clear business terminology and code-review practices.

• Ensure dashboards use appropriate dbt models, building or improving warehouse models when metrics require a stronger data foundation rather than relying on LookML-derived tables.

• Standardize metric definitions across the business, document them clearly, and address inconsistencies at the data-model level.

• Lead dashboard migrations by assessing existing usage, investigating metric definitions, identifying obsolete reports, and determining which logic belongs in the data warehouse.

• Deliver accurate client-facing reports shared with manufacturers, collaborating with account teams to reconcile figures, verify labels, and ensure internal caveats do not appear in external deliverables.

• Build and maintain reports containing protected health information (PHI), incorporating masking policies, role-based access controls, and Business Associate Agreement (BAA) obligations into the development process.

• Validate reporting outputs against source systems, investigate discrepancies, test edge cases, and communicate confidence in reported results.

• Mentor colleagues, share technical knowledge, and help unblock teammates to strengthen the team's overall delivery and development practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on business intelligence experience, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to turn complex data into reliable business insights. Practical skills and demonstrated results matter more than formal academic credentials.

• Typically 4–7 years of experience developing business intelligence solutions on an established platform, including production dashboards used for business-critical decisions.

• Strong experience with Looker and LookML, or practical experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Domo combined with a genuine willingness to develop expertise in Looker.

• Advanced SQL skills, including window functions, careful join design, and the ability to identify join fan-out and other issues that can distort reporting results.

• Solid data modeling capabilities, including understanding table grain, identifying missing elements, and designing data structures that meet reporting requirements.

• Strong data visualization judgment, with the ability to select appropriate charts and present information clearly without unnecessary complexity.

• A disciplined approach to quality assurance, including source reconciliation, edge-case testing, and clear communication of data reliability.

• Ability to work closely with operations leaders and account managers, clarify ambiguous requests, and identify the underlying business questions.

• A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor teammates and contribute to shared problem-solving.

• Strong understanding of healthcare data, protected health information (PHI), and HIPAA requirements.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to support data-driven decision-making across business functions.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or another regulated-data environment, including practical knowledge of PHI, HIPAA, and BAAs.

• Experience with dbt, including improving data models and contributing changes through pull requests.

• Production experience with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse, ideally including participation in a migration.

• Familiarity with Git-based BI development workflows, including version control, code reviews, development environments, and deployment promotion.

• Previous experience migrating a BI platform, including evaluating existing reports and identifying unused or redundant dashboards.

Benefits:

• Annual salary range of $115,000–$142,000 .

• Additional benefits and perks are not specified in the provided job description.
