About this role

Accountabilities You will own the development, architecture, and release of high-quality mobile applications, ensuring reliable performance across devices and connectivity conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform iOS and Android applications using React Native, TypeScript, and Expo.

• Architect and implement offline-first capabilities, including local data persistence, caching, background synchronization, conflict resolution, and retry/backoff strategies.

• Work with local storage and database technologies such as SQLite, MMKV, and WatermelonDB to support dependable field operations.

• Lead architectural decisions for new greenfield mobile projects while improving design patterns and maintainability across existing applications.

• Use agentic AI development tools to accelerate implementation, carefully reviewing and validating generated code before deployment.

• Integrate mobile applications with Supabase, including Postgres, Row-Level Security policies, and Realtime subscriptions, as well as custom production systems and third-party APIs such as HubSpot CRM.

• Collaborate with backend engineers and product leads to define efficient data models and type-safe API contracts.

• Manage the complete mobile release lifecycle, including provisioning profiles, certificates, build channels, TestFlight, and Google Play Console releases.

• Configure and maintain crash monitoring, performance tracing, and release-health telemetry using tools such as Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics.

• Investigate issues below the React Native abstraction layer by analyzing native crash logs in Xcode and Android Studio, and developing or modifying native modules when necessary.

• Write and maintain unit, component, and end-to-end tests to ensure application reliability and quality.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings extensive professional mobile engineering experience, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, AI-enabled development environment. The following qualifications are required:

• At least 7 years of professional mobile development experience, including 4+ years working with React Native in production environments.

• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, React hooks, and modern ES6+ JavaScript.

• Experience with state management and data-fetching libraries; TanStack Query is strongly preferred.

• Hands-on expertise with Expo across application development, builds, deployment, device management, and release channels.

• Proven experience designing and delivering offline-first mobile architectures, including local databases, background synchronization, and data conflict resolution.

• Production experience with Supabase or other Postgres-backed platforms, particularly Row-Level Security policies and Realtime subscriptions.

• Strong knowledge of native mobile development environments, including Xcode, Android Studio, native crash logs, and App Store and Google Play submissions.

• Experience managing application reviews and resolving App Store or Google Play submission rejections.

• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools effectively while rigorously validating generated code.

• Experience writing unit, component, and end-to-end tests using tools such as Vitest, React Testing Library, and Detox.

• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to contribute actively to technical architecture reviews and product discussions.

• Availability for a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with at least six hours of daily overlap with US Pacific Time business hours and the ability to work until at least 2:00 PM PT. Collaboration with US Eastern Time schedules is also required.

• A high-performance macOS development computer capable of running iOS simulators and Android emulators concurrently.

• A professional remote workspace with an HD webcam, noise-canceling headset, and enterprise-grade high-speed internet connection.

Additional experience that would be advantageous includes:

• Expo Application Services (EAS), Expo Router, expo-updates, over-the-air deployments, and React Native's New Architecture, including Fabric and TurboModules.

• Zustand, tRPC, Drizzle ORM, Zod, and NativeWind or Tailwind CSS.

• Location-based mobile features such as react-native-maps, background location tracking, geofencing, push notifications, and QR code scanning.

Benefits

• Monthly compensation of USD $5,000 .

• Paid semi-monthly.

• Full-time, 40-hour workweek.

• 100% remote work from Latin America.

• Independent contractor engagement.

• Significant technical ownership and influence over mobile architecture.

• Opportunity to work with modern mobile technologies, Supabase, enterprise integrations, and AI-assisted development workflows.

• Collaboration with a growing engineering team on applications used by field marketing and sales professionals.
