About this role
Accountabilities: • Review Jira stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and cases covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end workflows.
• Identify repetitive and high-value testing opportunities and translate them into effective automation solutions.
• Evaluate, recommend, implement, and administer the organization's test automation framework and supporting tools.
• Design, develop, maintain, and continuously improve automated test scripts for web, API, and system testing, including reusable libraries and testing standards.
• Expand automation coverage as application functionality evolves while maintaining existing test suites and ensuring continued reliability.
• Execute automated regression, smoke, and functional testing, while performing manual testing when automation is not practical or during new feature development.
• Validate end-to-end business workflows across the claims processing platform and verify fixes before production releases.
• Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues, validate resolutions, and retest corrected functionality.
• Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, defects, and release readiness throughout the development lifecycle.
• Lead the ongoing evaluation and improvement of automation solutions, recommending process enhancements that increase testing efficiency and software quality.
• Establish automation best practices, coding standards, documentation, and reusable testing approaches.
• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA colleagues throughout Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and releases.
• Work with Product and Engineering teams to continuously evolve the organization's overall test automation strategy.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies, frameworks, tools, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
• 3–5+ years of Quality Assurance experience with a strong focus on test automation.
• Intermediate-level experience with SQL and database validation in a QA environment.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation.
• Practical experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience performing API testing using Postman .
• Experience working with Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, software development lifecycles, and defect management processes.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience implementing a test automation framework from the ground up is preferred.
• Experience testing healthcare, claims processing, or other enterprise applications is preferred.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools is a plus.
• Experience mentoring QA professionals on automation practices and standards is preferred.
Benefits:
• $85,000–$90,000 USD annual base salary.
