About this role
Accountabilities: • Own and manage an individual caseload of in-process life insurance applications, from creating and sending applications to clients through underwriting and final placement.
• Request, track, and obtain required underwriting documentation and information from clients, ensuring cases progress efficiently and within expected timelines.
• Review underwriting decisions and proactively identify situations where alternative options may provide a better outcome for customers.
• Develop strong knowledge of carrier-specific workflows, application requirements, underwriting processes, and software systems necessary to manage cases effectively.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and well-organized case information while prioritizing workloads to ensure applications are processed, issued, and placed efficiently.
• Communicate consistently and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders, providing clear updates and addressing questions or issues throughout the process.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Customer Success, Quality Assurance, and other operational teams to improve processes and deliver a seamless customer experience.
• Provide and receive actionable feedback, contributing to operational efficiency, service quality, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements:
• At least 1 year of professional experience in life insurance case management or a closely related insurance operations role.
• Willingness to obtain a life insurance license as required for the role.
• Strong customer-centered mindset with a demonstrated ability to solve problems for clients and internal teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of individual responsibilities while contributing to team success.
• Comfortable providing and receiving constructive, actionable feedback focused on improving efficiency and customer experience.
• Positive, collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
• Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Life insurance agent or broker license is a plus.
