About this role
Accountabilities: • Support the execution and ongoing development of enterprise compliance and risk management programs, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational priorities.
• Manage policy administration, regulatory deadline tracking, compliance requests, and other operational activities supporting enterprise risk and compliance functions.
• Prepare and coordinate cases related to fraud, whistleblower programs, investigations, and other sensitive compliance matters.
• Serve as a key liaison for internal legal and compliance inquiries, coordinating with departments, organizational leadership, and external advisors.
• Support case management, due diligence activities, investigations, and related documentation while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and discretion.
• Manage request intake, email reviews, data entry, task tracking, and portfolio administration across the compliance and legal functions.
• Prepare reports, presentations, briefings, and summaries for leadership and other internal or external stakeholders.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to identify meaningful themes, deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Help strengthen governance practices and reduce organizational risk by identifying issues and contributing practical solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance administrative responsibilities with substantive compliance and risk management priorities.
• Maintain accurate, organized records and ensure assigned work is completed within established deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements:
• Must live in the United States and be willing to travel for twice-yearly organizational retreats.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Risk Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4–6 years of progressively responsible experience in compliance, risk management, legal operations, or a related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of investigations, compliance practices, risk management, and administrative procedures.
• Solid business and legal acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive matters under tight deadlines.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, including request intake, email management, data entry, task tracking, and portfolio management.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize competing responsibilities, and work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex issues clearly and concisely for diverse audiences.
• Experience with case management, due diligence, investigations, and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to develop clear reports, presentations, and leadership briefings, including the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail, combined with strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High degree of discretion, professional judgment, and commitment to confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data objectively and identify meaningful trends or themes.
• Compliance or risk management certifications such as CCEP, CFE, CRM, or RIMS-CRMP are preferred.
• Experience supporting Legal functions in nonprofit, technology, or higher education environments is preferred.
• Experience working in a fast-paced legal or compliance environment is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, and willingness to work across the organization to advance shared objectives.
• Passion for higher education is a plus.
