About this role
Accountabilities: • Build and enhance full stack features using React, TypeScript, React Query, CSS Modules, Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and related technologies.
• Create responsive, accessible interfaces that provide a consistent experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Own features throughout the development lifecycle, from planning and implementation to QA, release, and ongoing iteration.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Create and maintain database models, migrations, queries, and related data structures.
• Implement application logic, data validation, authentication, and permissions across frontend and backend systems.
• Write and maintain automated tests covering frontend and backend functionality.
• Investigate technical issues across application layers, reproduce bugs, implement fixes, and prevent regressions.
• Improve application architecture, performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop AI-assisted engineering workflows for development, debugging, prototyping, testing, documentation, and automation.
• Review AI-generated code carefully for correctness, security, quality, and long-term maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Contribute to a product-focused engineering culture that values ownership, rapid learning, and thoughtful execution.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience building and shipping meaningful production software.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
• Strong backend development experience with Python and familiarity with Django or another modern backend framework, with the ability and willingness to work extensively with Django.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs and software integrations.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query performance.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, data fetching, performance optimization, and accessibility.
• Experience writing automated tests and debugging issues across frontend, backend, and database layers.
• Proficiency with Git in a collaborative software development environment.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows to implement, debug, test, and ship production software.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring quality before release.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, high-trust team.
• Product-minded approach with the ability to think beyond individual tickets and understand broader user and business needs.
• Ability to take ownership of work, make sound technical decisions, and operate effectively without requiring a management or formal technical leadership title.
• Passion for building reliable, usable technology that supports a mission-driven organization.
• Bonus experience with Capacitor, React Native, Expo, Ionic, Progressive Web Apps, or other hybrid mobile development workflows.
• Familiarity with mobile-first design, design systems, component libraries, Docker, AWS, or CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Experience building AI-powered product features or internal AI development workflows is also a plus.
