Project Leader

Accountabilities • Lead medium- to high-complexity clinical trials or lower-complexity clinical trial programs, taking full accountability for deliverables, timelines, budgets, resources, and quality.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans covering milestones, budgets, resources, dependencies, and performance metrics.

• Own study-level client relationships by establishing effective communication channels, managing expectations, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

• Oversee project financial performance, including budget management, revenue recognition, forecasting, resource planning, and scope changes.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while developing contingency plans and communicating risk status and mitigation strategies to clients and stakeholders.

• Establish and monitor quality standards, ensuring deliverables meet expectations and implementing corrective and preventive actions when required.

• Lead cross-functional project teams, establish shared goals, promote accountability, and maintain delivery momentum through regular project reviews.

• Represent project leadership in client meetings, bid activities, investigator meetings, and relevant professional conferences.

• Mentor Project Leaders and junior team members while contributing to broader program management activities when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or medical-related field.

• 10+ years of experience in clinical research, healthcare, or another regulated environment, with a demonstrated track record of managing complex projects.

• Advanced project management and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to create urgency, assess complex situations, and develop practical solutions.

• Proven experience managing client relationships at the project level and communicating effectively with senior stakeholders.

• Strong knowledge of clinical trial processes, ICH-GCP principles, and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organization, conflict-management, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently with limited oversight while collaborating effectively within a matrixed, cross-functional environment.

• Strong attention to detail, accountability, and a patient-focused approach to clinical research delivery.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, project planning software, and clinical research systems such as CTMS, EDC, IXRS, and TMF.

• An advanced degree in a relevant discipline, PMP certification or equivalent, and experience across multiple trial phases or program-level responsibilities are advantageous.
