Senior Software Engineer (Video Streaming Engineer)

Accountabilities: • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions and product features.

• Build and implement video streaming and video processing services to support existing and future product capabilities.

• Develop and maintain scalable video pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient content delivery.

• Define and implement performance metrics to monitor streaming quality, system reliability, and overall user experience.

• Participate in technical architecture discussions and design reviews, recommending appropriate technologies and engineering approaches.

• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote best practices in code quality, maintainability, testing, and efficiency.

• Maintain and improve production infrastructure, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and resilience.

• Identify opportunities to improve existing systems by evaluating emerging technologies, tools, and industry developments.

• Collaborate with engineering colleagues and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business and user needs.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong expertise in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Node.js, Python, Rust, C, or C++.

• Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs.

• Strong understanding of video streaming protocols, including RTMP, RTSP, RTP, HLS, WebRTC, and DASH.

• Knowledge of video and audio codecs such as AAC, Opus, H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9, and AV1.

• Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design and optimization.

• Practical experience working with AWS, Linux, Docker, and continuous deployment workflows.

• Familiarity with multimedia processing libraries and frameworks such as FFmpeg, GStreamer, libvpx, x264, or x265 is a strong advantage.

• Experience developing video processing pipelines incorporating AI inference for computer vision is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently and manage competing priorities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
