• Engineering Quality and Continuous Delivery: Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and deployment workflows. Maintain strong testing practices, improve code coverage, and promote reliable software delivery.
• Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, share technical knowledge, and establish engineering best practices. Participate in architecture discussions, support team members in reducing technical debt, and help elevate overall engineering standards.
• Incident Management and Reliability: Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, resolve outages, and implement preventive improvements to strengthen system resilience and customer experience.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional Experience: At least 6 years of experience developing enterprise-level applications using Python, along with 3+ years of experience working with ReactJS or a related modern JavaScript framework.
• Engineering Team Experience: At least 3 years of experience working within engineering organizations of 30 or more team members, collaborating across multiple teams or product-focused pods.
• Remote Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience working fully remotely, with a strong interest in continuing within a globally distributed team environment.
• Cloud and Infrastructure Expertise: At least 3 years of experience developing and operating applications on AWS, including production workloads. Practical experience using Docker in local development environments is required.
• AI-Assisted Software Development: At least 2 years of experience using AI coding agents, such as Claude Code or Codex, to support software development, debugging, and productivity improvements.
• Backend and API Development: Demonstrated experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale Python applications, integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and developing asynchronous background processing across multiple tools or frameworks.
• Database Skills: Strong experience writing raw SQL queries and working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Monitoring and Observability: Familiarity with tools such as Datadog, Sentry, or New Relic to monitor application performance, diagnose issues, and maintain production reliability.
• Testing and DevOps: Experience writing automated unit tests and maintaining code coverage above 60%, alongside practical experience developing CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Legacy Modernization: Proven ability to modernize existing Python applications, address technical debt, improve application architecture, and enhance long-term maintainability.
