About this role

Accountabilities • Build end-to-end product solutions: Design, develop, test, deploy, and continuously improve features across front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, business logic, and data layers.

• Integrate business systems: Design and maintain integrations across applications, brands, and enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and NetSuite, ensuring reliable data flows and seamless system interoperability.

• Protect sensitive information: Implement appropriate security, privacy, authentication, authorization, and compliance practices when handling client, employee, and financial data.

• Translate business needs into technical plans: Break down ambiguous requirements into clear specifications, implementation strategies, and manageable tasks that can be executed by engineers and AI agents.

• Embrace AI-driven development: Use AI agents throughout research, prototyping, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation, while validating outputs for correctness, security, and production readiness.

• Shape technical architecture: Contribute to technology selection, system design, reusable development patterns, and architectural decisions that support scalability and long-term maintainability.

• Improve engineering workflows: Establish and refine AI-assisted development practices, tools, and workflows, helping colleagues adopt effective approaches and improve delivery quality.

• Strengthen code quality and reliability: Improve existing codebases through automated testing, monitoring, documentation, observability, and sustainable architectural patterns.

• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with product, design, engineering, and external partners to clarify requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Provide technical leadership: Participate in code reviews, pair programming, onboarding, and mentorship, helping teammates develop their skills and maintain high engineering standards.

• Drive projects and architectural initiatives: Lead technical projects beyond individual assignments, coordinate delivery across stakeholders, and, at the Staff level, take ownership of architecture spanning multiple systems.

Requirements

• Professional experience: At least 6 years of experience building and maintaining production software for Senior-level candidates, or 9+ years of experience with cross-system architecture ownership for Staff-level candidates.

• Full-stack engineering expertise: Strong ability to design and implement complete software solutions across front-end, back-end, APIs, business logic, and data infrastructure.

• Data management skills: Solid knowledge of relational databases, SQL, schema design, transactions, and migrations, along with familiarity with modern data warehouses, pipelines, and data integration practices.

• Secure software development: Experience building high-quality, secure applications with appropriate testing, accessibility considerations, input validation, authentication, authorization, and awareness of common web security vulnerabilities.

• Practical AI-agent experience: Demonstrated ability to use AI agents for complex, multistep engineering tasks beyond code completion, including writing specifications, defining task boundaries, providing context, and verifying generated work against the actual system.

• Product-oriented mindset: Ability to understand the underlying business problem before selecting a technical solution, ask thoughtful questions, and develop creative, user-focused approaches.

• Sound technical judgment: Strong architectural and problem-solving skills, with a preference for simple, maintainable solutions and the ability to navigate ambiguity while balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.

• Communication and collaboration: Ability to explain technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders, contribute constructively to planning discussions, and provide clear, respectful feedback.

• Technical leadership and mentorship: Experience leading projects, guiding other engineers, reviewing code, mentoring teammates, and coordinating with external partners or contractors. Staff-level candidates should have experience owning architecture across multiple systems.

• Continuous learning: Curiosity about emerging technologies and development practices, with the ability to evaluate new tools objectively and adopt approaches that deliver sustainable value.

• Additional advantageous experience: Experience deploying LLM-powered features to production and evaluating their effectiveness; extending AI development environments through MCP servers, repository instructions, reusable skills, custom workflows, or automated code reviews; working with Salesforce, NetSuite, or HRIS platforms; building event-driven systems or reverse ETL pipelines; using AWS or comparable cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools; establishing engineering practices from an early stage; or working in hospitality, events, real estate, or other customer-centric, multi-location industries.

Benefits

• Annual base salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD, depending on location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

• Performance incentives: Eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.

• Comprehensive healthcare: Health coverage for employees and their families starting on day one.

• Virtual healthcare: Access to 24/7 virtual care and emotional well-being support.

• Family support: Fertility and family-planning benefits, along with paid parental leave.

• Paid time off: Generous PTO, a day off for your birthday, and a year-end holiday closure.

• Retirement savings: 401(k) plan with company matching.

• Professional development: Support for education, courses, certifications, and ongoing career growth.

• Recognition programs: Opportunities to celebrate professional achievements and milestones.

• Community involvement: Volunteer opportunities and initiatives that support giving back.

• Remote flexibility: Remote work within the United States, with preference for candidates based on the East Coast or working in the Eastern Time Zone.

• Collaborative environment: Work with a multidisciplinary team that values integrity, teamwork, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

• Career progression: Opportunity to influence technical direction, establish engineering standards, and grow into broader architectural and leadership responsibilities.
