About this role
Hi, we’re Bloom & Wild. We don’t just send flowers. We help our customers to care wildly. Caring wildly is celebrating the little things we all do for each other every day. Not just the big occasions. It’s being there for the highs. Stepping up for the lows.
We care wildly about people and our planet. Which is why we’re so proud to be a certified B Corp™ – committed to making long-term positive change for our community, and the world around us.
Founded in 2013, our mission back then was to make sending and receiving flowers the joy that it should be, by harnessing technology, brand and letterbox delivery. We announced £75 million Series D funding in 2021 and that same year acquired bloomon in The Netherlands and Bergamotte in France. Together, we’ve fulfilled and delivered over 20 million orders (and counting!), making us the largest direct to consumer flower business in Europe.
Now home to a family of 3 beautiful brands, we’re driven by our vision to create the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful. And we won't stop at flowers and plants. Starting with the Bloom & Wild brand, we're expanding our gifting offering to other categories like cakes, candles and cocktails. This is all part of our ambition to build Europe's #1 direct to consumer gifting destination.
🛠️ Commercial Team @ Bloom & Wild Group Our team cares wildly about delivering ambitious and profitable growth across all of our seven markets and three brands. We’re firmly focused on growing profitably, whilst also keeping an eye on the long term commercial view, and our wider business goals, in everything that we do. This may sound like a cliché, but we really are a bunch of fast-thinking problem-solvers. Think Deeply, Act Swiftly really comes into play in our team. Our Slack channels are full of threads of our team coming together to solve a problem, sharing knowledge and resources, and all working together for our shared mission. We know where we’re headed, and we’re all ready to jump in to support each other to get there. We develop our commercial strategy whilst managing day to day trading to have full country or category oversight. We’re a distributed team, and we currently have team members all across Europe & the UK! This role is based in our London office with an expectation of being in the office 2 days a week, with full office presence and travelling to our Amsterdam office over peak timings. We work very frequently with almost all other functions across the business, so we’re really proud of our ability to collaborate effectively and are always looking for ways to connect and work together; making use of both our virtual tools and our lovely offices. We come together as a full team once a year in either London or Amsterdam for a team offsite, and throughout the rest of the year we gather in our respective country teams as frequently as we can! ⚙️ What you'll be doing: Reporting to our Country Director Germany & Austria, you'll own the trading function for Germany, one of our most important growth markets. You'll make sure we have the right stock every day, sell it to forecast and keep waste to a minimum. You'll also hold the pen on site pricing and make sure our website is set up to convert. You'll work across teams in a matrix structure, alongside our operations, central planning, range and product design teams, and play a key role in delivering our biggest peaks: Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. It's a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same and you can make an impact from day one. Some of the responsibilities include:
Stock and forecasting: • Managing our day-to-day and week-to-week stock position with our central planning, flower buying and operations teams, keeping availability strong and balancing supply when there are shifts in demand and customer preferences
• Making sure we have the volume and variety of stock available and sell it to forecast. You'll draw on past data, customer behaviour and the market calendar (e.g. public holidays) to keep waste to a minimum
• Feeding into our longer-term forecasts, using customer insight and market context to decide where we grow specific SKUs and products.
Pricing and range: • Holding the pen on site pricing, finding the right balance between selling price and margin, based on understanding of the overall product cost structure
• Working closely with the range team on bestsellers, market needs and pricing architecture to ensure we’ve got a range of gifts priced for all customer’s shopping missions.
On-site experience: • Owning the on-site experience, using stock levels, product naming and product ordering to grow or rebalance customer demand as needed
• Making sure the right demand drivers are visible, and running the right tests for where the market is today
• Managing the on-site AB testing roadmap from idea to launch for Germany and working with our BI team's insights to deliver next steps.
Peak trading: • Preparing for and delivering our peak gifting moments: Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. You'll work with our forecasting and planning team to get order volume and delivery date forecasts as accurate as possible, maximising growth while minimising waste.
Trading: • Preparing the regular trading meeting agendas and opening each meeting with the market context we need to make decisions across teams
• Building strong relationships with our in-house operations, central planning, range and product design teams
• Working with our UK and Netherlands trading teams and supporting trading in other markets.
AI and automation: • Building and embedding AI tools and agents into our day-to-day trading, from automating daily forecasting inputs to spotting emerging trends in customer demand, so we can make faster, better-informed decisions.
• Collaborating on bigger impact AI projects across our trading teams and other stakeholders in the business, so the best tools and workflows are rolled out across markets.
✅ You’ll love this role if you… • Have significant experience, preferably in an operational, analytical, financial or consulting role
• Are collaborative with excellent communication, relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Are a proactive team member - you take ownership and get stuck in, and you're able to balance multiple projects and priorities
• Are intellectually curious - you love to tackle problems with others
• You care about the detail and consistently deliver excellent work
• Are an empathetic decision maker - you put customers first and seek to understand what will work for them
• Are innovative - you enjoy new tech, testing, learning and trying new things
• Are enthusiastic and driven, with a positive outlook
• Have proven experience of using AI tools to improve how you work, e.g. automating reports or streamlining analysis.
🔑 You'll need…
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets ability and are comfortable managing, building & interpreting data models
• An analytical mindset and demonstrable experience of a strong numerical skillset (a background in STEM is a plus)
• To be fluent English speaker (C2), strong German language skills are a plus.
These are some of the skills and experience we think will enable success in this role, but please don’t worry if you are missing some of these. We’re committed to building a team made up of different strengths, skills and experiences, so if you’re excited about our values, passionate about what you do and would like to join us in doing things more thoughtfully, we’d love to hear from you.
🏡 Belonging @ Bloom & Wild We know that we learn through our differences, and building a diverse team has always been central to creating the best experience for our customers. We value all backgrounds, perspectives, ideas and experiences, and encourage everyone to share their opinions openly within our caring and inclusive team. These cross-business networks offer additional opportunities for connection, education, support and celebration, and ensure that inclusivity continues to be embedded in our ways of working.
🧭 Our ways of working We really believe in the power of connection. For us that looks different depending on the team you work in. Some of our teams work together in person every day, whereas others may connect in person every quarter. We also believe in flexibility that supports you, the work you do, and your team. How much you work from home and from our office depends on a balance of those needs, and you’ll agree this with your manager. Whether it’s through a shared project, a learning and development opportunity, or an afterwork social - we trust our teams to make the right decisions (for them and us) about where and how they work each day.
We’re big on collaboration, empathy, knowledge sharing and growth, and our values drive our priorities every day:
Lead change for good: we have the guts to try new things and step up to do what matters most Think deeply, act swiftly: we make sure there’s thoughtful rationale behind our approach and always act swiftly to implement ideas Care wildly: we pour care and creativity into everything we do and pay attention to the things that make a difference Stay open, be curious: we’re open about what we’re doing and why, and we welcome challenges from each other
🌟 Work that works for you To care wildly for our customers, firstly we care wildly for our teams. We work hard to craft a culture of thoughtfulness and care, where there is a strong sense of inclusion and belonging, enabling all of our people to thrive and be successful each day.
