Join the power movement as a Manufacturing Engineer As a Manufacturing Engineer at CFS, you will play a crucial role in transitioning new products from development to full-scale production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, quality assurance, supply chain, and production, to ensure the introduction of new products to manufacturing. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with moving products from R&D into manufacturing.
What you'll do: • Lead projects by defining the work scope, establishing a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure, and creating logic-tied schedules and cost estimates
• Develop, drive the execution of, and report on the status of project plans, which includes managing key milestones, budgets, staffing plans, and BOMs
• Evaluate new project requests by gathering relevant information to analyze defined project problems. Work with team managers to anticipate project technical, operational, and people challenges to define a proper resolution
• Guide your project group in mitigating near and medium-term risks, and actively anticipate common risks that could impact project budgets and timelines
• Regularly communicate project plans, issues, risks, and planned solutions to project command chain leaders and stakeholders through both verbal and written updates
• Ensure project team members have access to the needed context to successfully execute their tasks without relitigating past decisions
• Partner with indirect supply chain teams to manage vendor relationships—ensuring internal engineering deliverables, design reviews, and technical inputs are actioned on time to enable effective supplier execution
What we're looking for: • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering and project management
• Proven track record managing hardware or equipment engineering projects. You must have the judgment to operate mostly independently, making project decisions based on defined information that positively impacts project success
• Proficiency with project management frameworks and approaches, with the ability to apply them effectively to your projects
• A solid understanding of key engineering disciplines, alongside the ability to continually build a deeper understanding of the technical materials needed to effectively manage project execution
• The ability to adapt project plans to evolving strategic priorities and proactively help the team adjust to moderate changes
• Experience working with Jira and Confluence. Familiarity with modern scheduling tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent
• A reliable and persistent approach, consistently following through on work assignments even when faced with challenges
Must-have requirements: • Perform activities such as typing, standing, stooping, and sitting, for extended periods of time
• Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics
• Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
