Strategy & Operations Analyst - UK

The role & impact

As a Strategy & Operations Analyst, you will shape Xero’s future direction in the UK market. You will lead discrete strategic projects, dive into market research and competitive intelligence, and deliver insights that inform critical business decisions and regional operating plans.

In addition to strategy setting, you will turn those insights into action by driving the operational execution of key initiatives. Partnering with cross-functional teams globally and locally, you will align execution with strategy to ensure high-impact delivery that fuels our growth.

The team & how they connect

You will join a high-performing strategy and operations team that acts as the strategic engine for the UK region. Working directly alongside leaders across Product, Sales, and Marketing, the team brings together data, market context, and cross-functional expertise to solve complex business challenges. They foster a supportive, highly collaborative environment focused on clear communication and collective success.

Initially, the role will focus on:

- Harnessing AI tools such as Claude and Glean to automate factbases, market analysis, and internal reporting workflows.

- Building robust business cases and financial models to guide go/no-go decisions on critical strategic opportunities.

- Supporting the execution and tracking of the UK regional operating plan alongside management reporting like Monthly Business Reviews and OKRs.

- Analyzing market sizing, competitor activity, and customer trends to maintain a strong factbase for the UK market.

Where and how you can work

This is a hybrid role based in our London office, at least two days in the office.

Here are some of the things we're looking for, for this role:

- A background in strategy or management consulting, ideally with familiarity in quantitative fields like Accounting, Economics, or Finance.

- Sharp analytical skills, comfortable turning complex data into clear, actionable recommendations using tools like SQL, G-Suite, or MS Office.

- A track record of using generative AI tools to streamline analysis and improve operational workflows.

- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with a natural ability to present confidently and build trust with senior leaders.

- Familiarity with SaaS business models, go-to-market functions, and financial modeling.

- A curious, proactive mindset that thrives in fast-paced environments and navigating ambiguous business problems.
