About this role
ABOUT TOWN
We're an applied AI company building a powerful assistant that makes it easy for anyone to create and use software in their everyday work. Town builds a persistent model of you — your voice, judgment, relationships, priorities — and does real work on your behalf across every tool you use: email, calendar, docs, Slack, CRM. It doesn't wait to be prompted. It observes, learns, and acts.
We most recently raised a $55M Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Forerunner Ventures and continued support from First Round Capital, Alt Capital, and Conviction — plus angels including Adam D'Angelo, Soleio Cuervo, and Immad Akhund. Our founders, Jean-Denis and Tony, previously led EPD at Plaid and applied AI product at Google.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our best users don't just use Town — they build with it. They write routines and skills, wire up their own tools, and then tell other people how to do it.
You'll build Town's community function: the events calendar, the places our users talk to each other, and the pipeline that turns a great routine someone built on a Tuesday into something thousands of people use by Friday. The bar isn't attendance numbers or follower counts. It's whether community measurably makes people better at using Town.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own Town's community strategy end to end: which audiences we serve, which programs we run, and what each one is supposed to move. Take Town into the communities our users already belong to. Show up as a human being (not a booth).
- Build the peer-learning engine. Find the people doing the most interesting work in Town, get what they've built into a form other people can use, and get it distributed. This is the core of the job, not a byproduct of running events.
- Grow our online community. Set the tone yourself, seed the questions, and make sure the answers show up — so people come back because their peers are there.
- Create our events calendar: in-office show-and-tells, builder nights, workshops, dinners, and our presence at the AI events that matter.Turn community output into GTM fuel: user-built routines, workflows, and stories that Marketing, Sales, and Support can use to help our prospective users and customers.
- Close the loop with Product and Support — you'll hear what's breaking and what people wish existed before anyone else does, and you'll make sure that lands with the team that can fix it. Our sessions so far have taught us as much as they've taught attendees. Own that loop and make sure what you hear reaches the people who can act on it.
- Define what good looks like and instrument it: touchpoints, activation, retention, and adoption among community members versus everyone else. Bring the numbers, not the anecdotes.
- Partner with Content Marketing and PMM on launches — community's job before, during, and after every ship.
YOU MIGHT THRIVE HERE IF YOU
- Have experience in community, customer marketing, or event marketing, and have run programs yourself rather than managing people who did.
- Have built something from nothing — a program, a community, a conference track — and can point to what it changed.
- Are an AI power user. You've built real workflows with agents or automation tools, and you can sit with a user and make their setup better on the spot.
- Write well and quickly, in a voice people actually want to read.
- Run events without drama. Venue, catering, run-of-show, day-of chaos — you've done all of it and you like it.
- Think in metrics as naturally as in programs, and are comfortable owning a number.
- Are in SF and want to be in the office five days a week.
- Find the work yourself and close the loop without being chased.

About this listing
Published on Ashby under the board identifier Town, which is the name the employer’s own job board carries. RoleSprint has not verified the company’s registered or trading name, so it is shown exactly as published rather than tidied up.
RoleSprint is not the employer and not a recruiter. Applications are made on the employer’s own site and never reach us; what RoleSprint does is help you decide whether a role is worth your time and prepare for it if it is.
