About this role

Wemolo is no ordinary company - we are the pioneering force that is revolutionizing conservative parking management!

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey with us? At Wemolo, we are product-focused and follow a “you build it, you run it” philosophy. What you start, you also finish. We foster an environment where innovation and personal development go hand in hand. Are you ready to own (y)our growth?

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our development team and act as a lighthouse for frontend engineering at Wemolo. As a senior individual contributor on our IC track, you will contribute hands-on in our Operator team while shaping the long-term vision, architecture, and best practices of our frontend landscape across the company. Leading through expertise, not through direct reports. Our core stack is React in combination with TypeScript, and we embrace AI-assisted development as an integral part of how we build software.

What to expect

- Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications with React and TypeScript

- Own the long-term vision and architecture of our frontend systems while keeping a strategic eye on frontend tech debt

- Drive company-wide frontend standards, best practices and technology decisions

- Mentor and grow our frontend engineers, acting as a role model through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing in our cross-team frontend round with no disciplinary responsibility or direct reports

- Leverage AI-assisted development workflows to increase engineering velocity while safeguarding code quality

- Continuously evaluate and improve software performance, reliability, and security

- Stay up to date with recent frontend developments and proactively bring relevant innovations into the team

- Work independently and take full ownership of assigned tasks from technical concept to production

Inspire us by

- 8+ years of professional hands-on experience, with min. 6 years in frontend engineering

- Deep proficiency in TypeScript & React with several years of building and scaling production web applications

- Having built an end-to-end Web-Application using TS, React and any backend technology of your choice

- Proven experience owning frontend architecture decisions (e.g., component libraries, state management, application structure) across teams or products

- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and a clear point of view on using them responsibly

- Experience with modern build tooling (ideally Vite), and linting tools

- Experience with unit and e2e test frameworks (e.g., Jest, Playwright) and establishing testing strategies

- Experience with backend interaction protocols such as REST API, WS, MQTT, and GraphQL

- Experience with hardening Web-Application using integration of authentication services and security best practices (input sanitization, JWT, security headers, XSS protection, CORS etc.)

- Proficiency in Git and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD)

- A mentoring mindset and the ability to align engineers around shared decisions

- Strong written and spoken English (level C1 on the CEFR scale)

EXTRA POINTS FOR

- Experience building or governing design systems and component libraries (e.g., Storybook, Chromatic, Tailwind, AntDesign, BaseWeb)

- Experience with frontend observability and product analytics (e.g., Sentry, Mixpanel)

- Touchpoints with GraphQL middleware such as Apollo

- Knowledge of web performance optimization (e.g., Core Web Vitals) and accessibility standards (WCAG)

- Knowledge in Docker & AWS and other backend or infrastructure technologies

- Experience working with modern planning tools (e.g., Linear) in agile product teams

- Experience leading guilds, chapter rounds, or communities of practice
