ABOUT RADIANT

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to 5 years without refueling. Portable nuclear power with rapid-deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators and provide critical asset support for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Radiant’s unique, practical approach to nuclear development leverages modern software engineering to rapidly deliver safe, factory-built microreactors that use existing, well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory this summer, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Radiant is seeking a CAD Systems Engineer to own the NX and Teamcenter environment our mechanical engineers use every day, reporting to our PLM Architect. This is where engineering workflows get designed, standards and templates are built, and automation keeps design data clean as we scale. Teamcenter expertise is scarce and in growing demand, and working directly under an architect in a hardware-driven organization is a great way to learn a system most hardware companies rely on. You'll grow into deeper ownership of standards, customization, and configuration while supporting the design and build of the first mass-produced portable nuclear reactor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Develop and maintain the NX CAD environment: templates, customization files, role-based configurations, Check-Mate rules, part families, reusable component libraries, and default settings across the organization.

- Establish, document, and enforce organization-wide standards for CAD modeling, drafting, and PLM data entry to ensure data consistency and integrity.

- Partner with engineering on item and BOM structure, workflow design, revision and release processes, and data cleanup

- Automate the repetitive parts of the engineering data workflow, from bulk data operations to reporting.

- Own user and access administration in Teamcenter: accounts, groups, roles, permissions, and organizational structure as the company grows

- Manage client deployments and upgrades for NX and Teamcenter across engineering workstations, packaging, rollout, patching, and validating changes in a test environment before they go live.

- Troubleshoot licensing from the user side, coordinating with the systems engineer who owns the license servers, and drive vendor support cases to resolution.

- Write the documentation and run the training that stops the same question arriving twenty times.

- Grow into deeper platform ownership as you build expertise under the PLM Architect.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, another engineering discipline, or a STEM field.

- 1+ years in engineering support, design, drafting, component engineering, systems administration, or a comparable technical role

- Exposure to a PLM, PDM, or CAD environment: NX, Teamcenter, Windchill, 3DEXPERIENCE, SolidWorks PDM, or comparable. Depth is welcome but not required.

- Experience working with engineers, gathering requirements, and turning them into actionable steps

- Organized and dependable with attention to detail.

- Genuine appetite to learn this platform deeply

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- 3+ years in engineering support, design, drafting, component engineering, systems administration, or a comparable technical role

- Hands-on NX experience as a user, designer, or drafter

- Background in mechanical design, drafting, component engineering, or manufacturing moving toward the systems side

- Any Teamcenter administration exposure: BMIDE, workflow design, multi-tier environments

- Scripting aptitude to automate repetitive work.

- SQL comfort for reporting and data investigation

- ITAR, EAR, or 10 CFR 810 controlled environment experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.

- Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.
