About this role

OWN YOUR INTELLIGENCE

Prime Intellect is building the open superintelligence stack: infrastructure and tools that help ambitious AI teams train, evaluate, and deploy advanced models.

ROLE IMPACT

Platform engineering at Prime Intellect sits on the path from a research idea to a running AI workload. Your core mandate is to make every engineering team faster and safer: turn recurring infrastructure and security needs into paved roads, self-service capabilities, and guardrails that help teams move from idea to production with confidence.

This is a hands-on senior role with broad technical ownership. You will write code, set platform standards, and partner directly with research, product engineering, and security to improve how services are built, shipped, and operated.

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

- Work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and distributed, GPU-intensive AI workloads

- Own foundational systems in a small, senior team where technical decisions have visible impact

- Multiply the impact of other teams through secure defaults, automation, and a strong developer experience

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

- Build reusable infrastructure-as-code and reliable CI/CD workflows for platform services

- Design cloud foundations spanning compute, networking, identity, secrets, and service delivery

- Develop progressive rollout, health-check, and rollback patterns for critical infrastructure

- Build self-service platform capabilities, templates, and guardrails that shorten the path from code to production

- Partner with research and product teams to remove delivery bottlenecks and turn recurring needs into reusable platform capabilities

- Define practical observability standards across metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerting using tools such as Grafana

- Define and own platform SLOs, partnering with service teams on targets, error budgets, and reliability priorities

- Turn security and compliance requirements into reusable platform controls

- Lead complex platform projects from technical design through adoption and steady-state operation

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, or security-focused engineering

- Deep hands-on experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling

- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, secrets management, and CI/CD

- Experience designing secure software delivery lifecycle environments from development through production

- Production experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms

- Ability to debug across infrastructure layers and make sound trade-offs under ambiguity

- Clear technical communication and a track record of leading cross-functional projects

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience operating ML/LLM training or inference infrastructure

- Exposure to GPU infrastructure and distributed systems

- Experience with zero-trust access patterns

- Experience supporting compliance or audit-readiness programs

WHAT WE OFFER

- Cash compensation $150K–$300K with significant equity

- Flexible work arrangement (remote or San Francisco office)

- Full visa sponsorship and relocation support

- Professional development budget for courses and conferences

- Regular team off-sites and conference attendance

GROWTH OPPORTUNITY

You’ll have direct influence over the platform behind open frontier AI research and products used by ambitious AI teams. Your impact will show up in faster delivery, safer operations, and less infrastructure work repeated across teams. We value ownership, technical judgment, and engineers who turn complex problems into simple, durable systems.
