About this role
ABOUT REPLAY
We are building the first-ever bank for enterprise data. There are over 35 million businesses in the US alone, many of which are sitting on an asset they don’t know they have. At Replay, we help businesses monetize their historical operating data by licensing it to the frontier AI and data labs for model training. Replay sits at the intersection of advancing the frontier of AI, while helping companies generate millions in growth capital without having to give up equity, take on debt, or lay off employees.
WHY JOIN REPLAY NOW:
- We've scaled from $0 to a multi-eight figures run rate in a matter of months
- We've raised from top-tier investors (Floodgate, Afore, Ludlow, Hustle Fund, etc.)
- We're small enough that you'll carry outsized responsibility and grow as fast as the company does
- You'll partner and build for the fastest and most important companies in the world
- You'll be a part of building a massive, category-defining business from the ground floor
THE ROLE
Replay is hiring a Strategic Project Lead to own our most important engagements with frontier AI labs, end to end. You'll take a lab's goals for the data they need, turn them into a scoped, high-quality delivery, and run it through to completion, working directly with the lab's researchers on one side and our internal team and partner companies on the other. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is as comfortable in a research conversation as they are in the operational weeds.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own multi-million-dollar data projects with frontier AI labs — from first scoping conversation through successful delivery
- Be the primary point of contact for lab research and data teams: translate what they're trying to improve in their models into concrete data specs, quality requirements, and timelines
- Build relationships and trust with Replay’s clients - proactively anticipating needs, identifying opportunities for expansion, and ensure world-class execution under demanding timelines
- Work with our partner companies and internal teams to source, structure, and deliver data, and remove blockers as they appear
REQUIRED APTITUDE
- 2-3+ years in a high-pressure, high-ownership environment, such engineering or technical program/account management at a startup
- Track record of owning complex, ambiguous projects with multiple stakeholders and external clients, and delivering on them
- Comfort engaging directly with external stakeholders, including high-profile technical and research counterparts: you're curious about how models are trained and evaluated, and can hold your own in those conversations
- Strong analytical skills: you can structure messy problems, work with data, and build the metrics that tell you if a project is on track
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including with senior external stakeholders
- Gritty, action-oriented, and happy to roll up your sleeves
BONUS
- Experience at or working with a frontier AI lab, or a data/evaluation vendor in the AI space
- Experience in forward-deployed, solutions, or client-facing delivery roles
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines, RL environments, evals, or model post-training
- Previously a founder or early employee at a startup
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $175-220K base salary
- Meaningful equity
- 100% covered medical, dental, and vision
- Unlimited PTO
- Free gym + workout class memberships (via Wellhub)
- $500 desk allowance
- Up to $15,000 relocation bonus where applicable
HOW WE HIRE
1. Intro Chat (20 min): mutual fit and interests
2. Technical Screen (1hr): review past work and technical discussion
3. Take home: build challenge
4. Onsite (~3 hrs): present your project, meet the team, have snacks
5. References -> Offer
