About this role

Role Overview

This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to be on site at least 2 days per week in our Cork office.

NETGEAR creates innovative networking solutions for homes and businesses around the world. We're looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 & Identity Engineer, to own our Microsoft 365, identity and device management platforms globally. This role reports to the Director, Cloud and Enablement, and sits within NETGEAR’s global IT team.

This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role with global scope. You'll drive M365 and Entra ID projects, act as the technical authority for the platform, and mentor peers across IT. You'll keep identity and devices secure, improve the experience for users across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, and work closely with Microsoft and teams across NETGEAR. It's a high-ownership role on a global team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own the architecture and administration of Microsoft 365 end to end, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Apps and Intune, from governance through to user experience.

- Act as the technical authority for identity and access across Active Directory and Entra ID, including hybrid identity, SSO, conditional access, MFA and the joiner, mover and leaver lifecycle.

- Own device management and servicing for Windows, mobile and Microsoft 365 Apps, with a focus on reliability and minimal user disruption.

- Strengthen our security and compliance posture across identity, access, data and devices, in partnership with Corporate Security.

- Rationalise overlapping tools and adopt native Microsoft 365 capabilities where it makes sense, optimising licensing and cost.

- Automate administration and reporting using PowerShell.

- Manage the strategic technical relationship with Microsoft, making full use of available programs, assessments and expertise.

- Partner with Corporate Security, Engineering and IT teams globally, and maintain clear documentation and standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment.

- Expertise in Active Directory and Entra ID, including hybrid identity, conditional access and MFA.

- Hands-on experience with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Intune.

- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.

- Strong communication skills.

- Bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 8) in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Microsoft certifications, for example MS-102, SC-300 or MD-102.

- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview or Microsoft Graph.

- Experience in a global technology company supporting a global user base across time zones.

- Experience working directly with Microsoft account, support or partner teams.

Eligibility to live and work in Ireland is required. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.
