About this role
ABOUT NOUS
Nous is an AI agent that takes some of the load of life; making good decisions and acting for our users in areas where they’re not the experts or aren’t paying enough attention. We've started with optimising bills, where we're already saving households thousands, and are now expanding into new categories. Similar to how Amazon picked books as its first category and grew from there.
We’re growing fast, and it's working. 20x YoY growth makes us one of the fastest scaling startups in the UK. And NPS of +70 (higher than Apple) shows that our users love it.
We've just launched two more novel new products (on top of our existing bill optimisation). Insurance: we're the first to get the regulatory approval and build the tech to actually do the full insurance discovery and purchase journey as an agent for the user (not just give them a link to the best deal). Subscription management: lots of companies use Open Banking to draw pretty graphs – we're the first to use it to actively save people money starting by cancelling unwanted subscriptions for them.
It would be easy to look at this and think we've got it all figured out. But we've only scratched the surface; our ambitions are SO much higher.
We’re building a new category of product which is hard, so we’ve stacked the deck in our favour: an experienced founding team with multiple exits, and investors including the founders of Monzo, Wise, Booking.com http://Booking.com, lastminute.com http://lastminute.com, Onfido, Funding Circle, Tide, Habito and more.
Still - the problems we’re solving are hard. ‘Talk is cheap’ applies to agents too. To have REAL impact, agents need to break out of the sandbox and take action in the real world where there are consequences. This means solving all the hard, thorny, interesting, frustrating problems the real world has to offer.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Nous is one of the UK’s fastest-growing, AI-native consumer start-ups. We’re looking for a commercially minded Growth Lead to help us continue to scale.
We're hiring now because a member of the team is going on maternity leave, but this isn't fixed-term cover. You'll start on influencer — our biggest acquisition channel — and we'll expect you to be leading a second growth area within your first year. When they return, the team will be bigger and so your remit will grow. Nous is scaling very fast, and what that second area is will depend on where the business needs you most by then.
We don’t expect you to have spent years in influencer marketing. You might come from B2B sales, partnerships, or another growth role where you’ve built a strong understanding of relationship management and what makes audiences take action. What matters is that you can apply that knowledge quickly.
Your goal will be performance, not brand or reach. You’ll be hands-on across the channel: finding creators, negotiating fees, writing briefs, reviewing content and managing campaigns. You’ll also help answer the bigger questions — who should we work with, what should we pay, what content converts, and how do we scale the channel profitably?
We’ve built internal tools to manage everything from creator outreach to performance and payments, and we’re constantly improving them. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you do need to be toolsy – using AI to automate repetitive work, improve processes and build better ways of working.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Run influencer campaigns end-to-end — finding creators, outreach, negotiation, briefing, approvals and performance review.
- Make commercial decisions — work out what creators are worth, negotiate fees and structure deals that make sense for us.
- Create content that converts — write strong briefs and give clear feedback on creator content.
- Own performance — understand how we’re tracking against volume and CAC targets and act when we’re falling behind.
- Grow the channel — test new creators, propositions, platforms and approaches, then scale what works.
- Make us more efficient — use AI, internal tools and better processes to reduce manual work as the channel grows.
ABOUT YOU
We’re open-minded about exactly where you’ve come from. You might come from B2B sales, affiliates, partnerships or another performance-focused growth role.
You’ll likely thrive here if:
- You have relevant hands-on experience. You’ve been part of a successful partnerships-led growth team. If you have not worked with creators before you can pick up the specifics of influencer marketing quickly.
- You’re commercially minded and numerate. You’re comfortable negotiating and working with CAC, conversion rates, budgets and targets.
- You care about performance. You’re more interested in whether content drove customers than whether it got lots of views.
- You have good creative judgement. You know what makes social content engaging, credible and persuasive.
- You understand social media. You have a strong feel for creators, audiences and what makes content work on platforms like Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
- You can move quickly without sacrificing quality. You’re comfortable juggling priorities and making decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- You’re resourceful and toolsy. You naturally look for better ways of doing things and use AI to automate work, analyse data and improve processes.
- You’re happy in a start-up. You’re comfortable taking ownership, figuring things out and adapting as the company grows.
