Job Description

Role Summary

The Solution Consultant is a customer-facing pre-sales professional who translates financial-institution business needs into compelling MeridianLink solution strategies. The role combines product knowledge, foundational industry, technical and analytical expertise, process orchestration, and strong sales skills to support discovery, solution design, demonstrations, presentations, and the development of business value.

Core Responsibilities

- Partner with Sales to understand prospect and customer objectives, pain points, current-state processes, decision criteria, and desired business outcomes.

- Plan and deliver tailored MeridianLink solution demonstrations and presentations that connect product capabilities to the institution's use cases and strategic priorities.

- Develop clear business and system process flows that illustrate current-state challenges, future-state workflows, integrations, and operational improvements.

- Build foundational business cases and ROI narratives using customer data, benchmarks, process observations, and measurable value drivers.

- Support technical discovery by understanding software, hardware, APIs, cloud concepts, networking, security considerations, and system integrations; engage technical specialists when deeper expertise is required.

- Orchestrate the end-to-end pre-sales process by engaging the appropriate MeridianLink subject matter experts, product teams, technical resources, and leadership at the right stage of the opportunity.

- Respond to solution-related RFP/RFI questions, validate requirements, identify gaps or dependencies, and help position MeridianLink's differentiated value.

- Maintain current knowledge of MeridianLink solutions, releases, competitive positioning, industry trends, regulatory considerations, credit and fraud risk concepts, and financial-services operating models.

- Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders through strong communication, executive presence, consultative questioning, problem solving, and follow-through.

- Capture customer feedback and field insights and communicate them internally to support product, enablement, and go-to-market improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience in solution consulting, sales engineering, pre-sales, product consulting, implementation consulting, or a related customer-facing technology role.

- Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, credit unions, lending, account opening, credit decisioning, fraud/risk, or adjacent technology is strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to learn complex software products and translate technical capabilities into clear business value.

- Strong presentation, facilitation, discovery, written communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

- Ability to organize multiple opportunities and work effectively across Sales, Product, Professional Services, Customer Success, and technical teams.

- Comfort working with data, process metrics, and ROI/value concepts to support consultative customer conversations.

- Ability to travel for customer meetings, workshops, demonstrations, and industry events as business needs require.

Success Measures

- Quality and effectiveness of discovery, demonstrations, presentations, and solution recommendations.

- Contribution to opportunity progression, competitive differentiation, and sales outcomes.

- Accuracy and completeness of solution positioning, requirements validation, and internal handoffs.

- Customer and Sales stakeholder confidence in the Solution Consultant as a trusted advisor.

- Continued growth across MeridianLink's competency framework, progressing from proficiency toward advanced expertise.
