Performance Modeling Engineer

WHAT MATX IS BUILDING

MatX's mission is to make the world’s best AI models run as efficiently as allowed by physics, bringing the world years ahead in AI quality and availability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO HERE:

- Translate AI accelerator architecture into performance models

- Maintain modeling framework capabilities and releases

- Automate creation of detailed tensor layouts for frontier LLMs

- Create tools, compilers, and automations to integrate with the broader organization tech stack

- Collaborate with ML, Software, and Architecture teams to support experiments and workflows

WHO YOU ARE:

- Strong background in performance modeling

- Strong working knowledge of latest LLM model architectures

- Experience with computer architecture, particularly AI accelerators

COMPENSATION

The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on a variety of factors including role, experience, location, job related skills, and relevant education and training. Career length is only a guideline for compensation.

- Early Career - $160,000 - $275,000 + equity

- Mid Career - $175,000 - $450,000 + equity

- Senior Career - $275,000 - $600,000 + equity
