About this role
ABOUT LEAP
Leap is one of the fastest-growing benefits solutions and a category-defining pioneer in employer specialty pharmacy. We are reshaping how life-changing therapies are delivered and financed, ensuring patients get the treatment they need while employers finally get a fair deal.
Specialty drugs and infusions represent nearly 10% of all healthcare spend and are the fastest-growing cost category for employers. Leap tackles this challenge with a novel approach: eliminating hidden markups, expanding access to high-quality infusion providers, and bringing clarity and fairness to how therapies are priced and paid for.
We’re proud to partner with numerous Fortune 500 companies and leading TPAs. Each patient we serve creates immediate ROI: lower costs, improved access, and better care. Join us as we redefine what’s possible in specialty care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Leap is hiring its first Senior Solutions Architect to be the person employers trust to explain how Leap will work inside their benefits ecosystem, and our internal bridge between Sales and Product. You'll sit alongside our RVPs and territory owners in pre-sales on deals with some of the largest self-funded employers in the country. On every deal, you'll recommend the best implementation approach for that client's mix of carrier/TPA and vendor ecosystem, knowing the benefits and limitations each has for Leap and designing around them. This role doesn't carry a quota, but it sits squarely inside the sales motion, so you'll thrive here if deal pressure energizes you.
This is an external-facing role. You'll spend nearly all of your time configuring our solution to maximize the value we bring to our clients. You'll start with population-level analysis and the client's savings projection. From there, you'll describe the specific activation levers, plan-design choices, and implementation details that will deliver realized value. This needs to be based on what is actually feasible to implement. A design that is mandatory with one carrier might not work with another, and member incentives can mean a cash card at one employer and a W2 cash payment at another. You'll work out the details and tie each one to its impact on savings and member experience.
You'll consultatively lead clients to their implementation choices and own an aligned handoff to Client Success. This includes building the internal agreement on what Leap will commit to for a client, presenting the recommendations to the buyer, and bringing new ideas based on market feedback. You'll do this in close partnership with Sales, Product, Clinical Affairs, Operations, and Client Success.
This position reports to the SVP, Growth Strategy and Operations.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Partner with Sales to win large employer deals
- Serve as the pre-sales solutions lead alongside RVPs and territory owners, holding your own as the expert in the room with sophisticated benefits buyers and their advisors.
- Lead population-level analysis for each prospect and translate it into the specific levers that drive that client's savings and engagement.
Design the implementation for each deal
- Recommend, per client, how Leap can optimize the levers that lead to high member engagement and delivered impact.
- Set realistic expectations of what each TPA or ASO carrier will allow, such as automated member notifications or site-of-care redirection. Use those expectations to communicate how Leap will deliver the projected impact and to build confidence with employers.
- Show multi-plan employers how we present as one program, one member experience, and one savings story, and why that holds together across differing plan rules.
- Define what collaboration with partners and ecosystem vendors enables and the exact member experience it allows, so the buyer understands the member journey across solutions already in place (e.g., care navigation, onsite clinics).
Configure the levers that turn projected savings into realized impact
- Own the design decisions behind the forecasted savings numbers we present during the sales process, and secure the client commitments needed to move activation to the target range.
- Recommend how levers such as plan design and incentives should be implemented.
- Push the boundary of what's possible. Identify the improvements from client requests that increase impact, and stay up to date on industry best practices.
Be a thought leader for where we're going
- Determine how to leverage our proven operating processes to derisk implementation for new client types or novel requests. Build updated technical requirements and implementation guides where required.
- Ground each design in operating processes we've already proven, introducing net-new capabilities only where a client's line of business requires it.
- Bring what you learn in-market back into how we design the next deal and what capabilities we prioritize on our roadmap.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 6–8+ years of experience, including direct work with large, self-funded employers (100K+ covered lives) and their benefits teams.
- Deep knowledge of the employer benefits ecosystem, including how carriers, BCBS plans, large ASO carriers, TPAs, and health benefits interact, and where each constrains what is operationally possible.
- High attention to detail in working through complex implementations, generating documentation and standardizing work to make sure nothing is missed.
- Ability to prioritize in real time, knowing which decisions will lead to the greatest impact and focusing attention on getting the big items right.
- Strong external-facing presentation and communication skills, with the ability to be the expert in the room on complex topics and lead group meetings.
BONUS POINTS FOR
- Background in consulting combined with 18+ months in an operator role at a health benefits, navigation, or care delivery company.
- Familiarity with benefit design mechanics, including carve-outs and tiered network structures, as well as prior-authorization and payer workflows.
- Experience with specialty drugs, infusion therapy, buy-and-bill, or site-of-care programs.
At Leap, we’re building an outlier company with real impact — and that takes focus, energy, and commitment. If that excites you, we’d love to hear from you.
Leap is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. We’re committed to building a team that reflects a diversity of perspectives, experiences, and identities.
