ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Operations Support Specialist to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for project activities and deliverables.
- Assist with procurement activities and coordinate with appropriate supporting organizations.
- Support resource scheduling and coordination among project personnel.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation in accordance with Laboratory requirements.
- Assist with budget and cost tracking activities.
- Coordinate information and follow-up between project personnel, management, and supporting organizations.
- Assist with procedure revisions and updates.
- Support process improvement initiatives and implementation of established processes.
- Track issues, action items, and corrective actions through resolution.
- Help ensure required documentation and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, security, quality, and accountability.
- Perform other operational support duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
- Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Entry-level knowledge of operational support processes and procedures.
- Ability to follow established processes and work under the direction of a supervisor, team lead, or manager.
- Ability to organize and track multiple activities, records, and deliverables.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with personnel across multiple teams and supporting organizations.
- Ability to identify and assist with resolving moderately complex operational issues.
- Basic ability to work with schedules, budgets, costs, records, and project documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining safety, security, quality, and accountability.
About the Site
The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov http://energy.gov).
