About this role

📍 Singapore preferred | APAC remit

We are partnering with a fast-growing global payment infrastructure company to appoint a VP of Sales & Business Development who will lead its commercial expansion across APAC within the Financial Services vertical.

The company enables global businesses to access and orchestrate more than 1,000 payment methods through a single API, supporting intelligent routing and fraud prevention across 190+ countries.

This is a strategic, hands-on individual contributor role for a senior commercial leader who can open doors, navigate complex financial ecosystems, and convert market insight into meaningful enterprise partnerships.

The opportunity

You will own the complete sales cycle with banks, acquirers, fintechs, payment providers, and other financial institutions, from market mapping and initial engagement through negotiation, closing, and successful onboarding.

Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Customer Experience, you will help shape the company’s positioning and growth strategy in one of the world’s most dynamic payments markets.

What you’ll do

• Build and execute the commercial strategy for the Financial Services vertical across APAC

• Identify and develop opportunities with banks, acquirers, fintechs, and other financial institutions

• Establish trusted relationships with C-suite and VP-level decision-makers

• Own complex enterprise sales cycles from prospecting through closing and onboarding

• Design tailored engagement and go-to-market strategies for high-value prospects

• Lead sophisticated commercial negotiations focused on long-term partnerships

• Develop strategic alliances across the regional financial ecosystem

• Monitor payment trends, regulatory developments, and evolving client needs

• Bring market and client insights into product and service development

• Represent the company at relevant industry events, forums, and discussions

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of experience in business development or enterprise sales within payments, banking, fintech, or a closely related industry

• A strong track record of closing complex enterprise deals across APAC

• Deep knowledge of regional banking, acquiring, and payment ecosystems, including their technical dynamics

• Established relationships with senior decision-makers across the financial services sector

• Exceptional commercial judgment, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

• A strategic and analytical mindset, combined with the ability to execute independently

• Comfort operating across cultures, time zones, and fast-moving, ambiguous environments

• Advanced English

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, understands how complex financial-services deals get done, and is energised by building a market from the ground up.
