About this role

About Bobyard Construction is a $10 trillion industry that still runs on manual work. Contractors measure and count materials off drawings by hand, and it takes forever. Bobyard uses AI to automate takeoffs and estimates so bids get done 10x faster. We're Series A, backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear, and we're growing fast.

About the role Our finance team is small, and the company is growing quickly. You'll get in on the ground floor of a rapidly scaling startup as the first Finance Operations hire, reporting directly to our Finance Lead and working in tandem with company management to manage critical finance systems and processes supporting our growth. You'll run the day-to-day Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the inputs that bring accuracy, clarity, and efficiency to our month-end close. Attention to detail, clear communication, and routine process ownership are a must in this dynamic startup environment. As the team grows, you'll take on bigger projects in fundraising, billing systems, and scaling the finance function.

What you'll do

- Accounts Payable: bill processing, managing approvals and setting limits, issuing cards, vendor tracking, and coding spend across the organization to ensure high-quality reporting for decisions making

- Accounts Receivable and Collections: invoicing hygiene, ensure timely billing, manage AR aging,, navigate customer contract terms, and execute customer follow-up as needed,

- Review transactions weekly and flag anything that looks wrong, before it becomes a problem at close

- Prepare month-end close inputs and reconciliations for our outside accounting team

- Operate our billing and quote-to-cash tools (Stripe, HubSpot, and our billing platform), and help improve how they connect

- Keep the finance calendar across payroll, AP, collections, tax, and reporting deadlines

- Support fundraising and diligence with clean data, documentation, and analysis

What we're looking for

- 2–5 years in accounting, finance operations, or startup finance

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience

- Hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable experience. You've run it yourself, not just supported it.

- Admin experience with a spend management platform (Ramp/Brex preferred)

- A solid understanding of accounting basics: accruals, reconciliations, and revenue vs. cash

- Extensive experience building and managing spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)

- Detail-oriented and fast. You catch the duplicate invoice without slowing the payment run down.

- You enjoy doing the work at a startup. You'll chase a receipt, fix a broken process, and still deliver the bigger project.

Nice to have

- Experience with billing tools like Stripe, Tabs, or Chargebee

- Worked through a fundraise, audit, or diligence process

- Experience at an outsourced accounting firm or as an early finance hire at a startup

- Built a cash forecast, AR dashboard, or spend analysis that changed a decision

What we offer

- $95K–$120K base + equity + bonus

- Medical, dental, and vision, and a 401(k) with a 100% match up to 4%

- A direct line to our Finance Lead and leadership, and a path into fundraising and strategic finance work

- On-site in SF at 101 Second Street. We build together

Comp Philosophy

We are proud to offer competitive, top-of-market compensation because we want to celebrate the dedicated people who ship amazing work and drive our success. Our individual compensation is thoughtfully tailored based on your role, experience, and contributions, alongside performance-based rewards.
