About this role
Job Title: Commercial Masonry Estimator
Employment Type: Full-time Contractor Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, aligned with Eastern Time (±2 hours) Salary: $1,500 - $2,500/month Location: LATAM
ABOUT THE COMPANY
We’re working with a growing commercial masonry contractor specializing in brick, block, and stone work for high-end commercial construction projects across the US.
The company is founder-led with a close-knit, predominantly Spanish-speaking team. As the business continues to grow, they’re looking for an experienced Commercial Masonry Estimator who can take ownership of the estimating process and help increase project capacity.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Commercial Masonry Estimator, you’ll own the complete estimation cycle — from reviewing drawings and performing quantity takeoffs to gathering vendor pricing and preparing competitive bids.
You’ll work closely with the founder, project teams, vendors, and trade partners to ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
The company uses Tradesman estimating software and will provide training. The ideal candidate should be comfortable learning new systems and is expected to ramp up on the platform within approximately 60 days.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Review commercial construction plans, specifications, and drawings
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for brick, block, stone, and related masonry scopes
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and bids
- Develop clear scope sheets and estimate documentation
- Request and manage quotes from vendors and subcontractors
- Compare pricing and coordinate RFQs with trade partners
- Review design revisions and update estimates accordingly
- Support RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation
- Communicate with project teams, vendors, and clients as needed
- Participate in daily or weekly planning calls
- Provide clear updates on estimating progress and project status
- Work with field teams to clarify scope, quantities, and pricing
- Maintain organized and accurate estimating records
- Learn and become proficient in the company's Tradesman estimating platform
- Ensure all estimates meet company standards for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of direct construction estimating experience, with strong preference for commercial masonry
- Proven experience estimating brick, block, and/or stone projects
- Commercial construction experience is required; residential masonry experience alone is not a fit
- Experience working with or for US-based construction or masonry contractors
- Strong understanding of commercial construction plans, specifications, and scopes
- Fluent English, both written and verbal
- Spanish fluency is highly valued due to the bilingual nature of the team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Strong communication and follow-through
- Ability to learn new software and cloud-based systems independently
A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus but not required if you have strong hands-on masonry estimating experience.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with Tradesman estimating software
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Swift, Sage, AutoCAD, or similar estimating/takeoff platforms
- Experience working directly for a comme
