About this role
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll join the core platform team at a bootstrapped AI product studio, building the systems that enable thousands of users to interact with AI every day. This role spans the full stack, with a strong emphasis on scalable backend infrastructure, reliable data synchronization, and high-throughput AI workloads.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and ship high-quality full-stack features using TypeScript and React, with a focus on seamless user experience.
- Design and implement robust backend systems capable of handling millions of API requests and terabytes of client data.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features from concept through deployment and ongoing operation.
- Debug production incidents, identify root causes, and deliver durable fixes.
- Mentor junior engineers and raise code quality through thorough, constructive reviews.
- Synchronize and index large client datasets with fine-grained permission management.
- Operate and optimize systems that process millions of LLM calls per month.
- Architect environments that spawn thousands of secure code sandboxes daily.
- Build foundational infrastructure to accelerate custom integrations for new systems.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including production work across the full stack.
- Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL in production environments.
- Solid backend engineering background, including Python, tRPC, or comparable technologies.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and distributed, high-throughput services.
- Demonstrated experience building scalable, secure, and reliable backend services at data or API scale.
- End-to-end product ownership with a genuine focus on user experience and long-term quality.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and conducting constructive code reviews.
- Experience with AI service integrations, or a strong interest in AI-integrated platforms.
- Based in Munich, Germany (no visa sponsorship available).
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary range: 60,000 to 80,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
LOCATION
Hybrid, based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Candidates must already be located in Munich.
