ABOUT THE ROLE
We are making our first marketing hire: someone we can trust to own how Chai shows up in the world, including the brand, the story, and the moments where people form an impression of us. Our audiences range from pharma executives and scientists to AI researchers and engineers. Our work is technical and easy to misunderstand.
Today our founders carry most of this themselves. We need someone who can raise the bar while taking that load off them.
You will start with the foundation: a refreshed identity and website. From there, you'll layer on:
- making our key moments count at JPM, partner events, and the AI and science conferences where we need to stand out;
- building platforms that give our founders and researchers more reach;
- making Chai more legible and compelling to the engineers and researchers we want to hire, including those with no background in biology;
- putting a playbook in place so we can move faster without lowering the bar.
ABOUT YOU
You are a brand builder with taste people trust and the operational discipline to deliver on it. You are sophisticated enough to set a creative direction and hold an agency to it, but hands-on enough to rewrite a headline yourself, fix a slide, chase an event vendor, or sweat the details of a dinner. Nothing is beneath you if it shapes how Chai is perceived.
You have likely been close to building at least one respected technology brand. You may have been a founding marketer at a high-growth startup, led brand or creative at a design-forward company, or run experiences at a firm known for them. Biotech or pharma experience isn't required; genuine curiosity about the science and the ability to learn a technical domain quickly are.
